Hi everybody,

something is spooky with this table (of course ;-)

It runs fine within VPX, including UltraDMD and backglass, just as it should.

But in PinballX it doesn't show the Backglass when browsing through the tables. And even worse: After starting it from PinballX, it shows the VPX window and an error message saying "Error loading C:\..................\America's Most Haunted.UltraDMD".

I can't figure out the reason.

Do you have an idea?

Timo

.......... EDIT ............

Okay, it was my fault, I pointed to the .UltraDMD file in the GameManager instead of the .vpx file :-/

BUT: there is another problem! Playing the table directly in VPX it still works fine, but starting the game via PinballX makes it stuttering as soon as the DMD shows some animation. it is unplayable. Must have something to do with UltraDMD. But I wonder why ist has no effect when playing directly in VPX without PinballX???

Cheers

Timo

Hi,

Just to inform you I have a similar question @ http://www.vpforums....e=6#entry337657

but for me, the game just won't load in Pinball X. Did you do anything special to get it working? Runs fine in VPX

I had the same issues. Had to adjust the TiDMDscore timer. I found mine stutter free with 200 as the setting. Give it a try. the number settings may very with every computer.

This issue is discussed around this thread. http://www.vpforums....=19#entry317778

Thanks, I will try that. Just to be sure, are you talking of the following lines in the script?

If pause > 0 OR animateIn < 14 OR animateOut < 14 Then
TiDMDScore.Enabled = False
TiDMDScore.Enabled = True
End If

... and you mean that I have to adjust the "14" in the script, correct?

On the other hand I ask myself, why do I have this problem only in PinballX, not when starting the table directly with VPX? The script is always the same. I suppose that something within PinballX seems to interfere with XDMD.

No not in the script. It is a timer on the table design screen. Looks like a little clock. There are a bunch on there to the left. It is one towards the bottom 1/3 ob the table.

Okay, I found the timer and tried various settings between 200 and 1000. It doesn't change anything. And to be honest: That's what I expected. It is just not logical that a table-related setting within VPX should repair something that goes wrong only when starting the table from Pinball X. The table runs smooth "straight out of the box" in VPX, even with default settings, but it stutters in PinballX. Do I have to change something in PinballX instead?

Thanks so far for your ideas!! What next?  :hmm:

I see what you mean now. Sorry i'm not sure on that issue. I haven't encountered it before. Maybe someone else has dealt with this.

I found a solution that worked for me:

For whatever reason, PinballX was running in compatibility mode for windows XP. I must have turned that on a few months ago when I first installed it. I turned it off, and now it runs smoother than ever!

@jvanderbiest, maybe that helps you?

Yes the mentioned files are still there and will play outside of VPX5.  I use the primary sound drivers under VPX and the Bass.dll is unblocked.  The table had been working fine and now it's giving me those errors?

It has something to do with the audio under preferences. Because when I uncheck "Play Music" Backglass specific sound device" the table pays fine just no music?
