THanks so much for this! THis is one of my fav tables!!... drinks.gif

I do have a question however. I've never played the *real* TOM table so I can't compare the ball movements with a real one. I just thought that when playing this release the ball moes very fast and its very easy to make loops etc. Can someone confirm if the real table plays the same way? Cheers!

I can personally confirm the a skilled player on a well maintained table can easily do this, like myself on my personal one... wink.gif

OK...excellent...my skills must be improving also.... wink.gif

I have two other questions though:

1. When the ball gets captured I think "shooting star"? should there be a row of metal spikes that come up around the ball to trap it and then it drops down through to the flipper? I noticed that on ver 8.x I would see the spikes come up and trap the ball and hear her say "It's magic"..however on this 9.x table you don't see the spikes come up to trap the ball before releasing. What happens on the original? Is it a magnet that traps it and 8.x incorrectly showed the spikes capturing when really they should have been a invisible to simulate a magnet?... I hope this makes sense.

2. If you leave the ball sitting in the plunger lane for around 10 to 15 seconds it sort of rolls slightly to right in the lane. When you try to use the plunger it can't quite connect with the ball. The only way to rectify is to tilt the controller (I have a wizard) and realign the ball so the plunger can hit it. It is almost like the plunger isn't quite big enough or the lane is slightly to big or my wizard is slightly out of callibration (but even then the ball shouldn't get stuck in the lane if it slightky moves to the right. Not sure if anyone else experiences this problem?

Cheers

The extra ball buy-in with the 2 key is not working, it needs this added for line 241 and 250:
ElseIf keycode = leftmagnasave or KeyCode=rightmagnasave or KeyCode=keyBuyInButton Then

Thanks SunWizard

It might be running too fast for the spikes... I get monday and tuesday off - so that's why I'm a bit slow these days on the follow through/followup - will try to check out the plunger ball drift too. and I still need to reconnect the PBW controller to verify it's backwards for the plunger.

My hard drive died yesterday, so I spent the day reloading windows and scrounging code back together and patches... Good news is I got a few things fixed on vp9.
1 - Command line options are back to how they worked before
2 - Windowed mode works
3 - checkboxes work
4 - pinball wizard plunger operates correctly
5 - VP doesn't crash to desktop when exiting an unsaved new table
6 - vpbuildversion now reflects the correct/actual vp version number - ie 9.0.2 is vpbuildversion 902

wow, that is impressive under the circumstances...

Nothing worse than a hard disk crash and a reload....takes heaps of time to get back to where you were...

I create image files now of my base setup using acronis home backup. Matched up with one of those cheap WD 1TB drives and I can create multiple base images and ongoing backups. Has been gold and saved me a number of times...

Anyway - great work on the 902 updates...all great fixes...awesome!! clapping.gif

Now that sounds good! (The VP9 updates, not your HD dying.)

The spikes are in TOTAN. TOM uses magnets to ball save for the outlanes.

Of course, of course!!! All these new tables are making me go mad!! Yes you are quite correct....

Part of my brain must have been thinking about TOTAN while playing TOM!! I think the main reason is I don't think I've come across that effect in TOM on my previous versions but I could be wrong. You get to see sooo much more up close and personal when it is in this 16:9 format on a huge LCD TV. Stuff that I couldn't see clearly in the old 3d view on a 19" monitor...

Anyway thanks for clearing up my moment of insanity....Back to the tables... drinks.gif
