Hi,

 

attached You find a screenshot of my new Ice Cold Beer by Taito (VP9). Zany sent me good images of the playfield and the playfield glass, had. After I found a solution for the ball and rod movement, my first intention was to use the table ROM. Unfortunately bringing this ROM to life is still going on and so I decided to script the table logic.

Aldiode contributed high quality recordings of the table sounds that were helping a lot.

 

I am now satisfied with the actual result. Some of the sounds are missing, mostly because all of my sources have them only distorted or overlaid with talk or motor noise. Once the ROM is working, I will update the table.

 

The table is up and running. As usual, there will be a FS and a Desktop version availiable. I will test the game a bit more and will look into a DIP switch menu and maybe a highscore feature.

At the moment the various table features (Bonus countown, Rod pushup intervals, Extra Ball limits) have to be set up within the code.

 

True to the original machine, I use only 4 digits to display the score. I am not sure, if I should introduce a 5th digit, as all the things are scripted anyway.

Wow, looks great.  How does it play compared to Shockman's stand alone version?

It looks better. I hope it plays better. I think it will be very popular in VP. A 5 digit mod option would definitely be in order.

 

I think in my mods only (5 digit, and root beer), I am going to allow full name entry and a top ten table. It's a built in feature and just a couple lines of code to create, store and display it.

Hi,

 

I found a better version of the bezel image and implemented a version of the PostIt Highscore. I use primitives instead of EM-Reels to avoid the draw backs - thanks to gtxjoe for the tutorial.

You will be able to disable/enable the highscore display together with the other settings at the top of the script.

It was not so easy to implement a DIP switch menu without using pinmame, so I let the settings be part of the script.

I will upload the first version tonight.

 

If anyoune has a good image of Zeke's Peak and the bezel, used there, I could implement them with almost no effort. Just send them to me.
