I have installed everything but now I got this when I want to play:

Unable to open VPC.VBS. ensure that it is in the same follder as this table

Unable to load VPinMAME variable is niet gedefineerd

This table requires VPinMAME ver 009900300 or higher

and so on

what did I do wrong?

Do you have VPM installed? Did you add the scripts to the table folder? What OS are you using?

Friendly note: saying "I have installed everything" isn't very helpful. (And obviously something isn't installed [correctly] if it's not working)

If you followed a guide, let us know which guide. Otherwise, let us know each item you've installed. The more detail you can give, the better we can help.

In addition to Shooby Doo's recommendations, it's also helpful to let us know which table you're playing and which VP version.

Try installing Visual Pinball outside of the Program Files folder, something like

C:\Visual Pinball

or

C:\Games\Visual Pinball

Unzip VBS zipfile to the \Visual Pinball\Scripts or \Visual Pinball\Tables folder  (either one will work)

Install Vpinmame to \Visual Pinball\VPinMame folder

Good luck!

Make sure the script is set to vpmame controller instead of b2s.server unless you have b2s installed.

This is probably a different subject, but I still can not get my tables like scarface or Def Leppard to play from my "music" folder under visual pinball. I have read all the threads and the Mp3 tags have been removed.  Under properties, do the Mp3s have to be opened with visual pinball in Win 7?  The Mp3s play fine with windows media player.  Is their something I need to do in the tables script? I also do not have any mechanical sounds with these tables.  Any help would be appreciated.

In VP, click on Preferences -> Audio Options.  Make sure Sound and Music is checked.

Try this basic mp3 test:

Click on File->New to open the default table.  Press Play. Hit Esc and click on Debug Window.  Click on the ">" and then type in

playmusic "mp3filename.mp3"

and press enter

Does your mp3 play correctly?  Here is a test mp3 file that works so put this in the music folder and type  playmusic "test.mp3"

Attached File  test.mp3   2.74MB   8 downloads

Thanks for trying to help gtxjoe. I followed your directions above with your test file mp3 and nothing played(Cool test mp3 by the way).  If I go to my music folder in the visual pinball directory and play any of the mp3, they all work.  Windows 7 uses windows media player to play them. I know this has to be something easy I am just not doing correctly.

Hmmm, you mentioned that there were no mechanical sounds.  If you open a new table, you should hear plunger and flipper sounds even on that basic table.  If you don't even hear that, then its a got to be the Preferences->Audio Options setup.  Try changing those settings.  You might have to close and reopen VP after changing those settings

What about something as simple as windows volume or vp volume by pressing - or +.

This should be a new thread topic :-)
