The Simpsons Pinball Party Night Mod

Version: 1.0.0
Category: VP/VPinMAME 9.x - MOD Tables

Author(s): Original Table: Megapin(Groni), Modded by: unclewilly & kingb33

Description:
The Simpsons Pinball Party Night Mod 4:3

Present

The Simpsons Pinball Party 4:3 Night Mod
TSPP modded for night appearance

Modded by unclewilly and kingb33
Changes:
-Darkened and added light effects
-Hand coded gi lighting (stern games have no gi strings)
-All reels turned into walls
-Numerous sounds added
-Toy changes:
Added maggie, krusty, mr. burns, and moe
comic book guy has been changed to the collector
Toy modifications are based on: http://www.disorder.org/tspp/ba.html

Thanks to Groni for allowing us to release this modifacation

I appologize if the backdrop is a little off, i initially designed the table for FS and backdrops aren't my specialty. I removed the plunger dropwall animation and replaced it with a reel to cut down on the amount of textures, i hope this allows for compatibility with more graphics cards.

The screenshot he posted looks like widescreen shot with a WS resolution of say 1920x1200 making the images appear stretched and squished. It looks much better if you use a 4:3 resolution like 1600x1200 thus using the proper aspect ratio. I've posted an image to show you what I mean.

It's just a bad screenshot, it makes it look wider.

Thanks again for this guys, really appreciated. Everyone who likes 4:3 versions of these night mods, make sure you let them know you appreciate it if you want more! wink.gif All joking aside, there's a lot of work in this and it's not for them, they have pin cabs, it's all for the community! THAT along with the great/fantastic work done by the original authors is what it's all about.

Thank you very much KingB and Unclewilly!!! Some images look distorted, but as The Loafer wrote, you did this for all of us who don't have a pin cab, and this is very very kind of you!

Can i export and stretch the chimney and comic guy pictures to make them look better? Is there any detail i should know...?

I don't play much pinball on my arcade cab, but I played this one for quite a while last night, like it was made for it and my game room. One of the most unique mods I've seen yet. Thanks for the 4:3 conversion!

Hey guys,
Just wondering if there is any chance of an update to this table, I really like your night mod tables, and the way the updated megapin version plays. I realise there is a lot of time involved in a mod like this. Thanks for all of the effort put in to keeping the ball rolling, much appreciated.

Eventually i'll update this to groni's newer version of the table, but i'm right in the middle of a small list of wip's i'd like to finish up first. After the short list of tables, i plan to update all of my tables with what i have learned up to this point and this one is on the update list.

IMHO, this is probably my favourite release of 2009. It's hard to get that "night" just right and I think you nailed it here!

It's a beautiful table. It's amazing how far Uncle Willy has come as a table author and a pinball community contributor in the past year.

.

Lol geez i never get any love...i did all the lighting and a lot of the graphics on the night mods with UncleWilly. They are "joint" mods we did together smile.gif

TSPP actually took me the longest to get the lighting just right. I drove UncleWilly nuts im sure with my attention to detail lol...

For anyone who doesn't know we did the following night mods together:

-TSPP
-Twilight Zone
-TOTAN
-Flintstones

We plan to do more in the future just don't know when. We both want to do JP's CV for sure.

Sorry KingB! Thanks for all your gorgeous work. I'm hoping that the Flintstones night mod will someday be released in a 4:3 version. I really like the TZ mod, also.

That's right, kingb33 does the best lighting, i still can't come close to the realism he has in the lighting. Hope to work togeather again soon. Sometimes real life just gets in the way of our hobbies

For what ever reason I missed this one when it was released. Tried it out a couple of days ago and WOW! What a great night mod. The lighting is fantastic Kingb33. You and UW make a great team. Thanks guys, for all the hard work you put into this mod. It really shows.
