I thought I followed all directions correctly, have read multiple threads and tried multiple tables, but still receive the following errors:

  • "VPinMAME ver 01570000 required"
  • "wpc.vbs ver 3.26 or higher required"
  • "Line: 651 Object required: 'Controller'
  • "Line: 61 Object required: 'Controller'

After OK-ing those errors the table flashes for a second and closes.

I guess I am going to completely uninstall everything and start over (wish there was a clear install guide).

Any thoughts before I trash everything would be appreciated. Thank you.

Did you install vbs files to tables folder? You also may need to unblock files and run as admin all exe's if running win7-8

I did everything I could think of. Ended up installing the non cabinet version of PinMAME and it looks like it works now! Will have to continue tomorrow.

The tables run now but the DMD cover my screen so I need to do those configurations before I can test play!

What are the keyboard controls for new ball and flippers? I thought I knew them but couldn't get a ball to show up.

Typically 5-6 to insert a coin and then 1 to start game flippers are usually rshift/lshift but those won't work until your coined up and started. Enter is launch ball

Thanks, seems like I have everything running normally.

One odd thing - I have a set of install files in my downloads folder and then installed to another directory, if I try to delete the files in the downloads folder I receive VPinMame errors. Any ideas why?

What files are they

Basically all of the install files (which have been installed or copied to a new location for permanent housing) as well as the old version of VPinMAME that isn't being used.

Run the setup.exe in your the VPinMAME directory in  the visual pinball folder and check the setup paths

Something like this happened to me and I just ended up reinstalling everything. I still don't know what I did wrong but working now, not going to mess with them for now.

If it ain't broke, it's probably a good idea to take it apart anyway!

I just post here to hear myself type.

I also got those msgs when trying to start a table using the wrong program. Some would work and some wont.

Everything's to be running well now, just ended up leaving the old files where they are. No paths were wrong or anything. But since it's working I won't mess with it.
