Glad you like! The credit definitely goes to Scapino and the AWOL mac420. Mac420 spent a LOT of time rotating reels etc...

I've been waiting for this one myself. It looks real good. Now the Eight Ball trilogy is complete. This would be really awesome in a physmod. Now if only someone would do Operation Thunder.

Just curious, no matter what settings I try I get really bad jaggy flippers when the are in motion. Just along the edge like part of the flipper just vanishes.  Anyone else notice this?

Yes, it plays okay as far as I can tell, but take a look at the bottoms of the flippers.

@ shadowclassic, that's odd. Doesn't do that for me... There's something to try but I need to dig to find. I'll get back...

@ newer, I'm pretty sure I just used the FP video from here. They're both Scapino so they're very close...

Great table, thank you!

How can I adjust the table to play 5 balls? When press the "test"- botton [the 9 at the keyboard] the system steps into the adjustment mode and shows "00" in the ball/match display. But I cannot call register 23 to adjust the no of balls. Has anyone an idea?

Thanks, Christian.

After you press 9 on the keyboard, you have to enter 23 using the numeric keypad portion of the keyboard.

Hi ta 2868,

thank you for the advise. Today - I don't know why - I cannot access the "adjustment state" of the game, I can start the sound check ["0"] and all other functions as coin in or start. But pressing the "9" in game over state shows no effect.

Sorry, I have no better reply today, Christian.

Is there anything that covers it?

I pointed you to the proper procedure in the link I gave you.  Let's go through it.

1. Press 9 key on the keyboard side (key above the I and O keys).  You should see 00 in the ball in play/match display

2. On the numeric keypad side (usually on the right hand side where the numbers are located) enter 23 and press enter on the numeric keypad (make sure Num Lock is ON when you use the numeric keypad)

3. On the numeric keypad side enter the number of balls per game you wish to make it (1, 2, 3, 4 or 5) and then press enter on the numeric keypad

4. When you see 24 in the ball in play/match display press 6 on the keyboard side to save changes and reset table

You have to use the numeric keypad to enter the adjustments as the real machine had a keypad inside of it to make the adjustments.

If you still can't make the adjustments post again.

Hi ta2868,

I tried the following but failed:

- tried to step in adjustment mode on my cab system and my desktop system "9" (keyboard side) shown no effect on both systems, "0" worked on both systems and started the sound test.

- called VP921 directly, not via pinballx, same

Is it maybe possible to do the change in the nvram directly?

Thank you for your patience and readyness for support, Christian.

The only other thing I could suggest is download Scapino's VP8 table and use that to make the adjustments as he has a menu system outside of the rom menu system to make the adjustments then copy the nvram to your cab.  Other than that I have no other ideas for you.

Hello ta2868,

I tried to load the VP8 version as per recommendation - not possible to start the game due to script error messages. Then I tried to start the VPX version, failed as well (on an installation where other X- tables rund properly) for same reason.

I suppose that the new PinMame version is the reason for the situation (not able to reach the adjustment mode), do you agree? I could understand that, PinMame must integrate a huge and uneven "landscape" of different SS pin electronics architectures, so it can happen that a tiny corner like these few Bally games slips through the net.

Maybe you or another member of the community can send me a nvram file for Eight Ball Champ that is already set to 5 ball operation?

Thank you again for your support, Christian.

Hello ta2868,

found the solution for my problem to set the no of balls at Eight Ball Champ:

0. Open the coin door with pressing the "End" botton on the keyboard side of a fully buttoned keyboard.

then proceed steps 1. - 5. as you already described.

Thank you again, Christian.
