I can't start this table. i can insert coins (sometimes need to do it many times) it's working, but when i hit the start button, no ball come, trying this many times randomly increase score...

I tried with 2 different roms, it's the same.

I saw this problem on another forum but no answer.

I tried on my pincab and on my computer ... same result.

Any solution ?

I use vp990 and the "standard" version not the physmod

Thanks

Could someone confirm this table is working fine ? Can't believe i'm the only one with problem on it (and on 2 computers... )

I have about 96 tables in my cab, this is the only one not working :killwithfire:

Try downloading table again to make sur it's not corrupted

Try deleting the related .nv file in the vpinmame\nvram folder

What keys are you using as start and coin button. You playing desktop or cabinet mode. Provide more details on setup if still not working

Hi, thanks for answering.

I tried the 2 versions of the full screen cabinet table.(http://www.vpforums....s&showfile=9663 and http://www.vpforums....s&showfile=2804 )

Tested both on my computer (playing with default keyboard settings)  and on my pincab (controler joywarrior 24F8)

I tried to change in the script the rom version

I deleted the nvram file

i saw no errors when i unpacked the files.

tried too with and without b2s backglass.

i already saw this problem on another forum, here is it :

"when I press start:

1.  Nothing happens

2.  Credit will decrement and table will appear to start showing ball 1 in play, but there is no ball in the shooter lane and flippers don't work and often times it seems to start the score at 35million

3.  Credit will decrement but it appears the table resets (the checksum screen appears in the dmd and music resets)

4.  Table and VPmame will freeze"

I don't remenber i had the 4) problem, but the others are the same.

On the other forum i saw solutions for different problems but not this one.

I just found the vp9.90a version ... i'll try it in my cab this evening.

In the editor is there a gate where the ball gets released?

If so make sure the supports box is unchecked

I'm not at home, i'll check this this evening.

What i don't understand is that the table with no modifications at all is not working for me (and even the 2 versions available here) , i think about a problem with the rom (the only comon thing for the 2 versions of the table).

And as some people use it and don't seem to have this problem ... it could be my pc,  but, it's the same on 2 computers.

If i have time, i'll try tonight vp990a, i'll install visual pinball on my 3rd computer , and maybe delete all sharkey files i'll find on my pincab (even in the registry).

What you call the support box ? note that as the other person having this bug, ball are not coming, but flippers don't move too.

My thoughts are if the rom says the game is in play. Most likely the ball is stuck at the ball release.
Another thing you can do is move the apron off the table and when you start a game you should be able to see if a ball is created and not making it to the shooter lane

I just made a test with vp990a

What a strange table :)  I downloaded again it to be sure to have a good file.

1st launch, 1st ball working fine !!!!  2nd ball, flippers don't move i can launch the ball but can't play , 3rd ball working fine ... a few second, then the table stop responding, (the table, not visual pinball) flippers don't move any more.

Each time some stange sounds problems., on the 3rd ball, it has stopped.

I go bak to editor, start again, and now same problems as above, i need to push start many times for the game to start, and then ... no ball, and flippers not moving, sometimes all stops.

Reloading the table many times, trying different versions of visual pinball, i had it working another time, just for the 1st ball. When i lose it ... nothing happens, the table stops.

i tried moving the apron ... i see nothing, no ball is coming.

And each time (when it's not working, flippers don't move and i would just add, that each time i have to push start many times for begining (to have the 0 score showing)

Don't know if i'm very clear (French Inside :) ), maybe one day i'll try to do a video  to show the problem.

I am sorry you are having issues :( I am unsure of a solution, sounds very strange. You are using a keyboard? And when you press start, does the DMD go like you've pressed start and you just don't see a ball?

Just tried this under 9.90a and it worked fine. It did take me hitting the start button 3 times before it started, but it ran with no problems after that.

Can't believe i'm the only one with problem on it

I have exactly the same problem. I have re-downloaded the table and rom, and dumped the nv file.  I also have about 90 tables all working fine.  I have used vp9.2x and vp9.90 (in full screen/cabinet mode).

Could there be another dependency like something in the scripts folder?

I have tried on multiple machines, cannot get this table to work.

It makes me wonder about the possibility of a corrupt .vbs file?

Do other games from this era work? Try downloading the sega.vbs from here and replacing what you have

Frenetic : i tried on my computer (with keyboard) and on my pincab (Joywarrior controler).

When i hit start (many times) the dmd go on ok.

When all was working (1st launch and only 1st ball ), the dmd was ok too, with just one hit on the start key.

Coins are working fine in any case.

RNunez187 : did you tried launching the table more than one time ?  I  notice you have to press 3 times start buttons too to begin. so something is going wrong.

Well i'll wait another version of this table, as i said, i have 96 others ones working fine (somes sterns too), so i won't cry for only one :)

Thanks you all, if you have an idea ... i'll try , i keep the table installed.

Edit : just see the posts above. i'll try now the sega.vbs  (if i find it :) )

Edit again .... same thing replacing sega.vbs :(

Edit edit again :)  Same with the vp8 desktop version.

Me as well, upgraded to VP 9.91 and this table now works fine.

However I had to replace my vPinmame.dll to get VP 9.91 to work, so re-tried Sharkeys shootout with the older VP versions (vp 9.21 and 9.90) and it now works fine on the older versions as well.  So it would appear that this table (Sharkey's Shootout) didn't work because of the vPinmame.dll I was using.
