I have updated my setdmd program (http://pinballbulbs....les/setdmd.html) adding an import colors and export colors button. These will allow for easy one-click importing and exporting of colorized profiles supported by the color version of vpinmame.

 Attached File  setdmd.png   46.93KB   74 downloads

The way this works is this. Say you created a bunch of colorized ROM images and want to save off the colorization to either share or in case you have to reinstall everything you can easily import them. Click "export colors", and the directory you choose will be filled with color profile files with the romname.dmc.

Now, if you get a bunch of these files you can import them the same way. Just add the *.dmc files to a  directory somewhere, click import, select one of the files in that directory, and they will  *all* be imported, your registry updated, and colorized option enabled for each ROM that has a *.dmc file in that folder.

If all you want to do is import and export the dmc color files, don't click any of the other buttons.

The format of the *.dmc files are just text containing the RBG values in this order:

red

green

blue

red66

green66

blue66

red33

green33

blue33

red0

green0

blue0

By the way, setdmd has been around for a while. It also helps with other options like globally setting position for your roms or globally enabling/disabling things like ddraw, d3d, rotation etc. I use it every time I install a new cabinet.

To get started, I have also uploaded my color profiles here:

Cool!

Maybe you could also add the other ones from the thread here (incl. the "inventor" name)? That would be much appreciated..

OpenGL reported a bug to LE I'm looking into a quick fix. I guess export is missing one of the values.

This thread has been quiet for a few days.  Has anybody been updating these and posting them anywhere?

When the feature was initially released In VPinMAME I pulled some settings for The Shadow from the Pinside thread but applied them to Fish Tales just to provide a quick example. I didn't have a table for The Shadow installed on my test machine at the time. I see those settings made it into the database for Fish Tales. It's not awful, but just saying those settings could probably be improved to better match the overall color theme. I don't know how "official" any of those settings are, but anyone is definitely free to overwrite that one. I appreciate the continued work on these settings. I tried out Big Bang Bar and CFTBL yesterday, and thought those settings looked great. Love to see something for Roadshow, Junk Yard, or Championship Pub. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Is there a way of downloading and importing these all together instead of 1 by 1?, would save a lot of time for people that want to use them all.

Use the SetDMD tool provided by BigBoss.

SAM roms only support the 100% color value.

You can download it all in 1 hit using the link open6l provided to his dropbox.  You download them all in 1 compressed file and then extract that to install using bigboss's tool.  This is my preferred method as well :-)

I did have to rename a few of them after extracting as I am using a different rom version on a few tables, but it works well.

HI,

I manually setup batman forever before I tried Setdmd. Then I manually changed colours to check SetDMD works, so I downloaded batmanf.dmc and imported. Lo and behold it worked fine, however, I can no longer change colours on Batmanf manually.

Any reason why?

Definitely only after using setDMD to import. Running V9.90 latest BatmanF1.1

Someone please confirm.

Thanks,

Webster

Setdmd imports the color registry keys. What VP version is running or using setdmd has nothing to do with changing colors while a game is running. Further, the only data given being "I can no longer change colours on batmanf", based only on that no one can tell you why.

You did restart VPM after manually modifying the color settings, right? (F3)

Just modifying and then closing the dialog isn't going to change the colors on the screen.
