So I haven't been in the whole "pinball" scene in a while (busy with work), and I have finally decided to download VPinball again since I wiped my drive.

There's only one issue with it; my FPS decrease to nearly 10-15 when a lot of lights flash on the table, or other things similar to that.

With my PC specs, I thought I wouldn't run into those types of problems at all.

Unless VP has trouble keeping up with rendering all of the lights, these are my specs:

MOBO: Gigabyte Z77X-D3H

CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 @ 3.1GHz

RAM: 1 x 8GB Kingston hyperX Blu @ 1600MHz

GPU: MSI GTX 780 Lightning

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM

SSD: 120GB Crucial M500

PSU: Corsair CX750M

Cooling: Corsair H60

Monitor: ASUS VG248QE 144Hz 1ms 24"

If anyone has any tips to fix this, I will be forever greatful! :)

EDIT: The CPU-Z on my signature is extremely out of date, I will change it soon!

Try the new DX9 test version here:

Modern video cards on Windows 7+ commonly have performance problems in the released DX7 builds of VP (9.2.1 or ealier).     An example - The new Monster Bash is unplayable (less than 40fps) on Win7 or Win8 on my hardware.  If I go to XP, it runs as smooth as butter.   However, with the DX9 port of Visual Pinball, it's actually faster under Win8 than it was in XP, and everything is smooth.

I like the idea, but it is VERY broken for me. So broken that even the tutorial table has script errors.

Pretty much every table I load up gives me various script errors one way or another.

EDIT: Seems like the errors I get are all related to tables saving info in seperate files, outside of VPinball. (Options and text files and such)

Did you switch to WIndowed Full Screen in the video settings?    Exclusive full screen mode no longer works with VPinMame because VPinMame can't access the screen if DX9 has it exclusive.  If you try you get errors.

Other than that the DX9 build's compaitibility is excellent.    Let me know what errors you are getting.

Latest vs files? You mean VBScripts? I can't find anything VS related... (Sorry if it's not that, either i'm blind or just can't find what I'm supposed to be looking for...)

Yep, Using windowed fullscreen.

As for errors...

As mentioned before, it seems to be anything related to the "SaveValue" function or anything related to saving info in .txt files)

I have the latest VBS files.

I have really only tried Twilight Zone FS Night Mod, and the two included tables (Tutorial and top Speed)

All of them spit out errors when launching.

my top speed tutorial table never once ever worked either

but so what everything else does even all my wip's until they crash

due to some unforeseen reason having to do with older versions of vp

so I don't care that much if the tutorials are nonworking
