A suggestion for the VP developers to consider.

Would it be possible to have a tick option for wall profile added, round/square, where by a wall could be rendered rounded. This would eliminate the need to make round slings or rubbers using dozens of walls and/or ramps, thus greatly reducing time and effort to create such renders, whilst also reducing the number of objects required leading to reduced rendering times and greater efficiencies.

This feature could also be useful for wire rails and perhaps other applications to be imagined.

I agree, I'm making wire ramps and guide walls with dozens of finely-tuned points for the sake of mathematical accuracy because I'm OCD like that and like to pretend VP is some variant of CAD controlled with an electron microscope, and it would certainly save an awful lot of time if a ramp or wall could also be given the properties of a circular light with a centre point and interior radius in VP units, and start and end points along the required arc.

I love this idea. It def. would save a boat load of time.

What about a feature to add an alpha option to a wall. It would make it much easier to make see though platforms and what not.

I also, would love to see an option to select certain control points, say on a wall for a plastic and have them automatically transfer to a light so we don't have to painstaking, select / copy paste each point for GI work. Very time consuming.

The same here.
I am very perfectionist, or try to be, (this is probably the reason why I don't have finished a table) with the perfect circle I build anything, even things straight :D .
With a fake profile round for now, there are only ramps with 1 wire,
with the diameter can not be changed.

Another reason why this is a good idea to consider: the construction of real-world machines follow the same principle, for the simple reason that a circle is, by definition, the smoothest surface you can make.

I love this idea as well and have thought about it myself. This would save tons of time and help those with OCD's :) :)

Related to this: if it's possible, adjust the properties of ramps so that the outside edge acts has the same smooth surface as the inside - as of now, a ball travelling along the outside edge rattles, bumps and can get hung up, because the outside edge isn't as smooth.

Why is this an issue? Becuse I doubt I'm the only person who plots mathematically-accurate ball guides and rails out of ramps, because a ramp can always retain a uniform thickness along its length regardless of shape, and it's only one set of points to have to plot instead of two. The ramp is then set to non-collidable, and the actual guide wall is made invisible and overlaid on top.

If every ramp edge could be made smooth, that last step could be eliminated entirely. It would also help if there was an option to show the top of the ramp to make it an enclosed space, as well as the base and the sides.

I wonder if the dev team is looking at this thread?

Maybe it would be better off combined with the VP9.16 alpha/beta bugs and feedback thread..

I like all of these suggestions,

and I would like to add a cross-radial arc equation for automatically rounding the corners of Slingshot Walls by a user's input number or by dragging an arc line drawn from two Control Points to expand or collapse an arc curve in between, say, of a Wall corner.

One of the hardest things to do in VP is to get nicely rounded corners to those pesky triangular Slingshot Walls.

roofs over ramp tops would be the bees knees

especially when trying to make a vuk

most vuks (vertical up kickers) have to have a separate wall

set to invisible hanging over the ramp to keep the ball on the ramp

that is to keep the ball from falling off once it gets kicked up

these are usually set up by trial and error on my part

and for any other vuk must be done for each and every one

usually also set at an angle to ensure the ball hits it at the proper angle

to keep said ball on that ramp
