It's only supposed to hold the balls on the disc when multiball is about to start. During normal play your magnet at 40 is too strong. You can change the magnet strength during a game.
12 was the required value for me on a properly leveled Ultrapin machine.
As for what broke the other magnet, compare the script with a new download or your backup of the table.
Humm, we may be talking about two different things but I don't think so. I've owned a real LIS pin and here's the way it worked on my game: The ball stay on the spinning disk for the whole while untill multiball should start and then the magnet lets them go all at once. It's the best part of the game. The sound builds and then there is a "boom" and they should all go flying in different directions. It's real exciting.
At 12 the magnet would only hold two balls, maybe three then they would come "unglued" well before the true release time. With a value ABOVE 40 the balls vibrate wildly and wont stick to the disk. 40 seems to hold them nicely for me till the proper time. I've got to add that I have rescaled this version to play on my full size, 3 monitor cabinet. My playfield monitor is a 42" HD TV. Maybe by doing that I changed the way the magnet works.
I'm a bit of a Nub but after working on rescaling of your table to Full Screen I think it plays pretty good. I've seen others rescale these Spanned tables and upload them to the Full Screen section. Do you think people would like this done with this rescaled table? What is the proper way to do that? Do I need your permission to proceed? I don't want to step on any toes here. I've also got a wheel logo and table shot for Hyperpin and a somewhat low res backglass for a three monitor system (it is a little better then the one on Flying Dutchman's site or the one in the Spanned Table file).
Thanks again, Dave
