File Name: Riverboat Gambler - Mod - FS

File Submitted: 15 Mar 2013
File Category: VP 9.x MOD Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Permission to MOD?: Unspecified

Thanks to JP for allowing this mod.  This serves largely as update of sorts, just taking advantage of new features & tricks that have come about since this table was created in 2010.  I'd also like to do further updates to lighting, GI & PF flasher effects in the near future, especially if maybe JP still has original textures without the old lighting on them that I can work with.

& speaking of textures, the desktop version now has the higher resolution textures from the FS version.  I know on my 1920x1200 monitor its definitely an improvement.

This table uses a fair amount of clear plastics, so its a nice improvement as I converted them all to alpha plastics.
Also replaced all the posts with JP's nice looking transparent (alpha) posts like the real table has.
And, the 2 top flashers now use nice halo effects.
New alpha ball image added.
Using Koadic's latest alpha plunger system.
Some other minor visual tweaks.

Also using Koadic's code additions that makes it easier to choose VPM, UVP, or B2S at the top of the code just by changing the number value.
This table also makes use of the new ball sizing code in the new VBS.  Ball is just slightly larger (by 3 units) to make it accurately proportional to the table.

Table uses some JimmyFingers code too.  The flipper tap code that I always use, & I also took a bit of his light system update & halo textures to create top 2 extra flasher effects.  His modified ball rolling code & his alpha ramp flipper logo effect.
Table also now uses B2B collision so thanks to all involved in creating that.

I gave the table my usual physics & tuning.
There are some new sounds.
Lastly, for FS users, this table does use the QWER keys for the roulette wheel.  If you can't use these buttons, the game is still playable,  I think it might auto select after a countdown.  Being a desktop user, I don't know what solutions there might be for making these switches selectable on a cab.  If anybody comes up with a solution please let me know.

Like all your MOD's this plays amazing!

My cab rebuild is only few hours away from completion. Can't wait to play these (along with few beers) this evening. Thanks!!

PS. I remember that you mentioned in some other thread that you might have IJ MOD on your hard drive as well... hopefully we'll see that one day too!

is it possible to program in the script to use the flipper keys instead?

Can not play this version as I always get the error message "LedControl". Must be something concerning the LedWiz but I did not activate anything nor having a LedWiz.

Edit: just deleted the ledwiztoolbox.vbs. No idea how it got installed...

Great Job Rob. One comment. You dont need to include Kodiacs ledwiztoolbox code on this table. It supports full forcefeedback through ledcontrols.ini. Only reason why we needed that for haunted and bumpers on POTO is because some or all features could not be supported via ledcontrols hence we needed ledwiztoolbox to fill in the gaps.

So if you make a new update to fix anything, you can remove the code and timer.

I think scarface uses that but there may be a script fix for that in its thread so just adjust that table and you should be fine without the ledwiztoolbox.vbs

Actually Rob I didn't realize you added the bumper and slings forecefeedback commands in addition to Koadiacs ledwiztoolbox code. Please remove those commands and koadics code as I will cause solenoids to double fire and  or introduce stutter when used inconjunction with ledcontrols.ini

I urge people who are working on EM' and originals to use this code. There are limited number of tables that have rom controlled solenoids that can benefit from this implementation (ie. POTO). I am going through all tables now. There are a hand full like Black knight 2000 and Banzai Run  that I have modded myself to take this into account. I will have a thread completed soon on this. In the meantime, refrain from using this code for rom controlled tables unless otherwise noted.

Where do I get the updated core.vbs? This table needs 3.37 or greater...

Ugh, I think I officially give up on trying to add FS/cab features that I can't test myself & am not familiar with.  Just more trouble than its worth.

Just enable ledwtimer which is disabled by default.

Can someone help me with this part, clearly I'm doing something dumb. When I look in the script it shows ledwtimer = 1, is that not enabled? I do have the most recent 3.38vbs files installed.

Now you know why I only made desktop and plain FS versions (which are just rotated desktop tables), since I can't test anything because I only have one screen and I play only desktop tables.

And nice MOD, I like it :)

Lol, don't give up rob... Kinda my fault as I guess I really didn't explain in my pm that the ledwiztoolbox stuff only needs to be added to patch otherwise non functional items on rom controlled tables.

Just update your ledcontrol.ini with the Ledwizconfig tool located here.

hey jasonsmith

Just delete the ledwiztoolbox.vbs in the tables folder.

If you don't ledwiz at all you will get this error.

I also just assumed it would universally work without giving it much thought, so I probably shouldn't do that.  Its no big deal though, easy update.  Plus I probably should draw the line at stuff I can't test.  You know I even had that issue with the alpha plunger on POTO where because it worked fine for me, I had no idea there was that timer issue causing problems for nanotech people.  Was an easy fix, & hopefully I can keep remembering to check that.  & knowing even JP chooses to avoid doing much more than flipping the table for FS, that also tells me I should probably do the same & not drift too far into the unknown!  Or if I do, I'll just make sure its tested by somebody with a cab before release.

Rob, nice update to the FS table, thanks! I always enjoyed this table on my cab. I appreciate that you released an FS version for me to enjoy the changes.

Is anyone working on a directb2s backglass?

The ledwiz commands are only necessary for EMs and original tables if somone wants to drive external flashers and solenoids. There are 2 or 3 tables that had to be manually updated with ledwiz commands since they are unable to be controlled by the rom/ledcontrol.ini. There is no way you would have known that and I appreciate you putting in the effort to make everyone happy. Don't be discouraged by the other posters remark. I hope to enjoy more FS table updates someday from you.
