File Name: Theatre of Magic VP91x FS MirrorMod v3

Theatre of Magic VP91x v2.1.1FS MirrorMod v3

This is basically JP's table with just a few changes...
- I have created a psuedo mirror at the top and have altered the back wall accordingly.
- I have copied the size/position of the tiger and saw from UW's NightMod version, as it fits the layout with the mirror better.
- And finally, I have altered the Ring Magnet to have a hole in the center.

- Almost forgot... I also included an AR Plunger with analog support

Other than the above cosmetic changes, nothing in the way of physics were touched, so it should essentially play the exact same.

If you decide to alter the view settings, keep in mind it will be necessary to keep a little bit of the black bar on top as this masks the balls going off the screen in the mirrored playfield, otherwise you will have image artifacts left behind and visible.

v2 Changes:
- Reduced size of upper left Pop Bumper from 62 to 55 to hopefully remedy any ball issues being caused up in that section
- Reduced size of the trigger used for the Mirror hopefully reducing any line 1216 errors (caused when ball has left the trigger area but not registered as having left)
- Removed dropwalls in mirrored upper lanes causing graphical glitches (hopefully this was the cause)

v3 Changes:
- Updated Plunger Code
- Minor graphical fixes

Please report you have any further issues.

No problem guys, as this only came about after someone asked me how hard it would be and me telling them it couldn't be done with having the ball images included. That got me thinking of alternative ways to accomplish this, then afterwards I had a brainstorm and tried out this idea which doesn't actually use any predrawn reflective surfaces, it is just an extended playfield with a window showing a part of it, with the reflections being complete objects with a mirrored orientation.

And it turns out the result is pretty good, which is why I shared a link to a short clip. biggrin.gif

Regardless, if anyone experiences any issues, please let me know. I have done some basic troubleshooting trying to eliminate any script errors (as I had to pretty much adapt stuff for a new purpose), so it is very possible I may have missed a couple things. When it is working, it should show 'reflections' of up to 3 balls, as I don't think there are any more than that on the playfield at any one time.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply, just woke up...

I just downloaded the file, extracted the table, and opened it in VP just fine, so not sure what the issue might be... I will go ahead and send you a link via PM and see if that works for ya...
If anyone has any similar issues, please let me know and I will try reuploading the file that is available for download.

Just had a chance to check this out on the cab! Nice job Koadic the mirror effect is awesome! I did however have to change the x-scale to 1.755 the right uper part of the mirror would get distorted with the x-scale at 1.748! Running windows xp might b an xp thing not sure though! Just thought I would report it! Once again wicked mod!

Not sure, haven't had a chance to run it on an XP machine yet, but if it is a problem for other users as well, I can always update the table with the new settings.

And thanks biggrin.gif glad you like it.

Well, what good are envelopes anyway if you can't push them? biggrin.gif I guess you could always use them to send stuff... but how droll...

Anyway, I noticed a small graphical glitch up to by the mirror, where when the ball goes down the right top lane, part of that then shows through the backwall (was this what you were referring to ICPjuggla?) which I have fixed on my local copy. This is due to the backwall being a ramp, and have added a wall to the back as well so it doesn't happen anymore. If there are no other small glitches in the next day or so, I will update with that copy, or possibly later if other bugs are found (depending on how long they take to fix).

yes exactly what I was talking about. seems as though the new x-scale I implemented fixed it though. if I went too high on the x-scale the ball would get stuck on the 1st pop bummper and the peg, at 1.755 the ball was fine. [attachment=11696:img_2043...92983_1_.jpg]

Alright, will look into that... I know what the error is, just need to figure out why it happened...

Thanks, now the file is ok.
Below I put the image with graphic glitch, and the ball between the bumper and the peg.
The bumper and the peg are very close, I reduced the size of the bumper and the problem no longer happened.

Thanks

Max

Alright, as soon as I get some feedback on the modifications I have made, I will update the table. This will hopefully fix the graphical glitch as show above, I reduced the radius of the upper left pop bumber from 62 to 55 (increasing the overhang accordingly to be the same graphically) which will hopefully fix any issues with a ball getting stuck up top, and reduced the mirror trigger size to hopefully eliminate the possibility of getting the line 1216 error

Ok, table has been updated, hopefully I fixed all the issues.

The ball gets stuck on the Gate1.
Move down the gate of 1 (y 553, instead of 552).

Thanks

You can actually have four balls on the playfield. Vanish a ball, and then start multi-ball, and voila: Four-ball.

Might not make any difference though. It would be pretty tough to have all four up there and viewable by the mirror. I was unable to get more than two up there at a time while I was trying.

I'll do ya one better, it is more likely an issue with the 'supports' box being checked, as that can cause similar issues, so I will go ahead and uncheck the 'supports' box for all the other gates on the main playfield too. Next update will also include a small graphical fix for the outlanes where the T would disappear on the left outlane, and the E would disappear on the right outlane when the gi flashers went off (in addition to a couple other small items). I also plan on including my 26 step plunger animation (0-25) since there's no need to worry about how many alpha ramps are in an animation anymore.

Will probably upload it later this evening unless there are any other issues that are reported.

In that case, I will make it possible to have 4 reflections... very minor change to accomplish, so why not? biggrin.gif
