Mata Hari

Version: 1.0.0
Category: VPinMAME 8.x Recreations

Author(s): scapino

Description:
scapinos version of Mata Hari.

*******
First Release v1.0 4-8-2009

This table came out much better than I thought it would when I started it.

I was able to capture some good mechanical sounds from various YouTube videos, of people playing
real Mata Hari tables, including great flipper, popper, sling and ball rolling sounds.

I've tested this table with both VP8 and VP9, and it works fine in both (on my machine anyway, YMMV...smile.gif )

Thanks to JPSalas for his EXCELLENT previous version.

Thanks to Inkochnito for his nice standard dip adjustment menu, and his score/instruction cards.

Enjoy Mata Hari!

Kurt, What an amazing rendition. The sound is incredible and the Graphics as with all your tables are top notch. The ball rolling sounds really add a new dimension to the game. I wish more authors would incorporate this into their tables. I have tried this in VP8 and VP9 and they both play great. But I like it better in VP9.

Thank you for another awesome release. It truly is a work of art.

Thanks for the feedback about VP 9, Keg. I was a bit apprehensive about saying it worked on it, because I only was able to test it on my own machine running VP9.

Thank you, wtiger!

Thanks Scap, she runs silky smooth in VP8 or VP9. It's late and I'm tired so I don't really notice any difference graphic wise (is there supposed to be a difference?!?) but I have to admit the flipper action tends to feel a bit better in VP9 so this table might be starting to convince me to give VP9 a bit more of a try (so far, a few tables I've tried either didn't work well, performed poorly, etc).

Mata Hari is amazing! The sounds are so crisp and clear and really adds a certain dimension to this wonderful version. You have the perfect balance of lighting and plays perfectly at night and really sets the ambiance. The ball feels just right too and feels like it has a good weight. A+

WOW - That is amazing work... Those sounds are FANTASTIC.... makes soooo much difference to the realism....

I love playing this even in 4:3 mode! I hate to ask but were you going to release a 16:9 version? If so I think this will be the only 16:9 table I would load for weeks.... here's wishing... smile.gif

WOW...thanks again regardless. Others can look to your work on this table for inspiration of what vp can really achieve.

Stunning. cool.gif

Kudos to you Scapino! You have ALWAYS made the best versions of the tables that you recreate, and Mata Hari is definitely NOT an exception! I must have played your version of Mata Hari for 2 hours straight tonight. The sounds, the lighting, the graphics, everything is just PERFECT! This is one I am definitely sure that I will be playing for QUITE some time to come! Can't say enough good things about this one. Seeing your work that you do on these tables truly amazes me. You make all of your recreations seem so REAL. Now if you could do a killer new version of KISS (1979), I could die a happy man tomorrow! But until then, I guess I'll have to be content with playing all of your other STUNNING recreations! A job most definitely WELL DONE!

Just awesome Kurt....man u knocked this out so fast!! Please don't ever stop making tables man.

The sounds on this table are amazing to say the least. I love the flipper sounds, it sounds like you are literally standing at the table. I even noticed the sound the plunger makes when u pull it back, very nice touch!

What is your next table? Drum roll please! A true 16x9 cab friendly version of Cirqus Voltaire!!!!! haha God we can only hope!

BTW u still going tweak Twilight Zone? smile.gif

as always, brilliant !

about the gameplay, and as often with recreations, i feel too much power in VPM that in the real table : for example : ball was pulled by the left slingshot, goes up to the B lane and made the turn and than down thrue the A lane : never did that in real !!! smile.gif ... flippers also seems too powerfull... but this is not a prob, i cant set the power myself if needeed

and finally : i really like the 2 multiballs of miss Hari !

wink.gif bravo and tanx Kurt

Thanks, all!

Yes, I'm working on the "cabinet" version (16:9) now. I'm trying to get it organized so I can have a easilly repeatable conversion technique
for my table. I have all the math worked out for 4:3 tables, so I can do those quickly, now I have to work out the math for the rotated 16:9,
cutting and placing reels, correct render sizes, and all the offset and zoom numbers in VP9, so I won't have to do endless, move, zoom plays to get everything to line up.

Thanks again for all your kind words, and I will post updates as I go along with the 16:9 development.

Kurt
