Buster Ball

Version: 2.1.0
Category: VP 9.x Recreations

Author(s): Themer

Description:
Recreation of Genco's 1931 Buster Ball.
This is the first flipperless table recreated for VP 9.x and higher only, meaning that it isn't playable in VP 8.x and lower.

In the past people had problems with the key to get the ball in front of the plunger. The reason was that they didn't start the game. First pay with "5", next start the game with "1" and then you can get the balls in front of the plunger with "A".

Version 2.1:

- Removed bugs caused by nudging
- Redrawn lower playfield
- Updated high scores script

Version 2.0:

- Completely rewritten script
- Kickers removed
- High scores added

Nice work not really my taste of table but definitely a good addition to the tables here.
Had to try the table 2 times first time didnt do anything first time and plunger/kicker doesnt look right. Am using Vista and an Nvidia gfx-card.

thx for sharing

Thanks for this Themer! Looking forward to giving it a go later on today. Might there there be an FS version?

I don't know whether or not I can get it completed today. The playfield itself is being recreated with a lot of new control points to get rid of the kickers. I don't have a cabinet myself, so I can't test a FS version. If you're willing to, you're allowed to create a FS version after the update.

Ok playfield is reconstructed, next I have to do the programming all over for the high scores and I'm also going to use collections for a shorter and thus cleaner script. Currently something is wrong with the way alpha images are being displayed in my VP9. I first have to sort that out for a final improvement.

when I first saw that title I thought "oh good another one of Tii's pins"!
Tii usually makes all the older pins and trade stimulators
then I saw your name attached to it,
great job! cool.gif Nice to see someone else making the older flipperless pins too

I prefer recreating pinball machines which haven't been recreated yet. After updating this one, which will be completed next week, I'll start with the logic of Nosferatu. Hopefully I'll get some help with the graphics on that one later on biggrin.gif

The code is now rewritten as well. The only thing left to do is the implementation of the high scores which consists of the 10 highest scores.

My love showed me that it's possible to cause some bugs by nudging the table heavily. These bugs will be solved next week smile.gif

Updated to version 2.1. Since testing didn't show any new bugs I expect this to be the final release. Besides fixing the bugs caused by nudging, I've also redrawn the lower playfield and updated the high scores script to always show the latest score. The final version of this high score script may be used by other people. After my son sleeps through the night I'll start Nosferatu as promised before.
