EDIT: I tried it again and the bug vanished, so take the following with a ton of salt.
I guess my system was throwing a hissy fit!

I checked this in VP8.1 and this happens in VP9.12.

In VP8.1 when holding SHIFT and clicking two or more Control Points in order to adjust the length of a Wall, size, etc., and then Dragging one of the Control Points, the Wall stays in place.

In VP9.12 when doing the same, the Wall slides with the Control Point(s) and does not stay in place.

Cool. Why would you select more than one control point at a time again?

Btw - in VP8 if you select a control point, and hold down the left mouse button, and then right click and release the mouse buttons, the control point turns green smile.gif

A correction. For whatever reason the bug has now vanished.

Why would I select two Control Points (holding SHIFT) on a Wall?
It is a quick way to make a rectangular Wall.

Okay, I found it. It is Not a bug.

It happens when dragging two or more Control Points while the Wall itself is highlighted.
A diligent table author will know not to hold SHIFT while clicking both Control Points AND the Wall itself! whtflag.gif

No table at all Bob.
It's just that every now and then I start to think I am inspired by an idea for a new theme,
so I fiddle with VP....

....and later download the same theme by someone else. otvclap.gif whtflag.gif

I find it is also a pain if you don't click in the correct spot. If you go to add a point(or move one or more), and click on the edge where you want it, it unhighlights etc...

I find that by clicking just inside where you want (so just a tad in from the edge), it works.

Same for moving control points, and yes, i move multiple sometimes as well, for example, if you have several points you want to move together. I had a wall shaped like a persons nose that i wanted longer, and moving 6 points at once worked great at what i wanted to do smile.gif

Good you got it working.

I found that out also. more than two points the whole darn thing goes with it, so ya' do
two points at a time. yeah it's tedious as hell but that's the way to get it done correctly.

also did ya' ever notice ya' can't gather a group of anything and set them all to a given surface?
they (lights and walls; drop targets) must be done one by one.
A pain for lights that must go onto, let's say an apron.
you can gather them all together and move them around,
but as for setting them all in one shot, to another surface, um...no.

You can for walls and such, but not if mixed together. For example, if you have a combination of walls and triggers selected, you can't... unselect the triggers, and voila!

So i am not sure, but i think if you have multiples of the same type of object you can.

I tried it and the editor on the right side vanishes when all of them are selected. This is done through the 'shift' key
btw not a drag the box around the group thing. All I did was select Itchigo's bonus lights and try to get them
onto the apron. this is not the first time this has happened, it is with every pin I build using vp9.1.2.
I have gotten used to it it just takes a bit longer for stuff like that, it shouldn't but what can ya' do...

That is very weird Faralos!

I just tried it again and it works for me. I made 3 walls, shift-clicked them and the right panel is still there. I add a target and shift click it with any of the other and it vanishes.

Not sure what you are doing different. I am in VP912 btw. Maybe lights don't work? Let me try now......

Nope, lights work as well...

Let me try ramps,

ramps work as well...

Let me try triggers,

They work too, but combining any mixed together and it fails!

edit: pic added

pss. Faralos, I just had a thought... and please, if it sounds silly forgive me.... but when you click to move them, where do you click? Make sure you click inside the light, not on the playfield as it will unselect everything.

Found the problem
you are correct one cannot move both decals and lights together
as the option box on the right shows
that was my mistake as I by accident got the decals in there too
tks!

I agree it is still pain though. It is almost like, you better be sure where you are putting something, because moving it later is a serious headache, especially when you have multiple layers.

The worst must be slingshots. Try navigating through all those layers to get to the one you may want to edit.Yesterday, for example, ihad the thought that i would increase my slingshot strength, but there is like 6 layers, and at least 4 of them has sligshot properties needing changing.

What i do is write down the layers in order of their heights, and then keep sending to back (right click, send to back), until it cycles to the layers i need to change. The easiest way is to grab the layers via the left menu 'select' arrow, and find the layer, but i find it only shows so many...anything beyond the letter R is always off the screen. That is a pain.
This should be called the "That is a pain" thread smile.gif
