Rescue 911 - Mod - Desktop

Version: 2.2.0 VP9 Mod
Category: VP/VPinMAME 9.x - MOD Tables

Author(s): Zedonius, rob046 (Mod)

Description:
Select 'Backdrop_WS' for widescreen's, and...16:10 set x-scale to 1.0516:9 set x-scale to .945Press L to turn off city lights and improve performance a little more.
Thanks to Zedonius for allowing me to mod this.
v2.2 - Much improved performance. I've more than doubled performance here.
- New backdrops created from a nice translite image I found.

Improved physics all around. JF flipper tap routine included, which I also like to use to help tame some backhanded shots.
Plus other changes since 1st release.

v1.2 - More physics tweaks, some fixes, captive ball area redone to be more like real game even with clear balls, proper drop target decals added, & probably other odds & ends . (1-30-12)

v1.0 - Physics changes. Improvements for desktop version. Visual changes/additions also. I also added the JP/Noah nudge system & realistic nudge settings (I also recommend people to use blur's core vbs for improved nudging).

Thank requlem, he did all the hard work on this table & allowed me to share a mod that I would of done for myself anyhow whether I could share it or not. I just fixed things up a little nicer for desktop users is all.

Sabbat: Does this really play smoother? I don't think I had done anything that should give a few more fps, nothing I can think of at least. I'll have to check & see if I get a few more fps, & if so maybe I'll find out why.

The video games in the background are way to close.

Just got around to playing this mod. It definitely plays a lot better on my laptop. No stutter either.

Thanks for the mod rob!

UPDATED to v1.2
I just did another update with some more & better physics tweaks. Captive ball area redone to be more like real game even with clear balls. Proper drop target decals added. Corrected a couple switches, one leaf switch wasn't enabled, & leaf switches were set as slingshots, so I fixed those. Added proper elasticity all around the table. There are still a few more things that can be done to improve the table that maybe I'll mess with at a later date & can spend more time with it, but at least the table plays pretty well now, which is most important.

Cool to have this table done...finally.

Hey... I've been away... haven't had much time to play anything so I'm not up to date with the new VP stuff... what are those FS "non-desktop" tables for... and why are they so popular? Are they only for cabinet players and people who rotate their monitors?

Medic!!! vava.gif

Hello Rob, thanks for posting this mod. It's a fun table and the mod is a decent shot in the arm!

If you can remember what you changed, is there a possibility you would mod the full screen version of this table? That would save a long comparison of settings and also script variables.

Cheers! drinks.gif

I just tried a FS conversion, there are a few issues with it, & I don't have a proper FS setup for testing. I'd really rather somebody who plays proper FS do the conversion for me since I can't really properly test it or convert it.

I was going to list all the changes, but there is too many small things, the physics are WAY different than the FS or original desktop version, I spent quite a bit of time trying to get the table play as real as I could. It would definitely be easier if somebody just convert the mod, rather than trying to transfer all the changes to the original FS.
It shouldn't be too difficult for some of you guys. Its probably pretty easy, but I just don't have the setup to do it.
