Super Soccer WS B2S

Version: 1.01
Category: VP 9.x Recreations

Author(s): Leon Spalding, tamoore, Rosve

Description:
Super Soccer (Gottlieb 1975)
Thanks to Leon Spalding for creating a great playing table, and for granting me permission to modify it.

Thanks to Rosve, for making an AMAZING B2S backglass, complete with working bonus balls!

Thanks to pinuck and Kruge99, for the stuff I ripped off from their awesome, awesome Sinbad table (rolling ball and rubber hit sounds and code)

Thanks to the VPF chat room guys, Rascal, Bob5453, Player1 and Monk (Sabbat), for their help.

Thanks to ebarlow99 for the technical support.

What I did:

I redrew all of the graphics, added an alpha plastic layer, redrew all of the rubbers, added posts, and did a number of other random yet insignificant changes.

Edit:
I know the problem is not with the table, but it´s kind of frustrating, cause recent tables such as Jacks Open WS, Sinbad WS, Flying Turns WS, Paragon 2011WS, The Beatles WS, Time Zone WS, Wizard WS, are playing perfectly fine....................... think.gif think.gif think.gif think.gif

Thanks tamoore! First time I've tried a B2S table, need to get used to it on my monitor.

1234fd - try it with HD Render off. Works for me with it off on my laptop. I believe it has something to do with the B2S program, as the others you've listed do not use B2S. I am guessing the image for the backglass is a HD image.

Is there a way to INDIVIDUALLY change the playing settings for a table ?

Edit: Tried it, did not work, same error message, I also tried to limit the image size to 512 without success.

If you are talking about HD Render, no. HD Render is now a global setting - you can not set it for each individual table like you could in older versions of VP9.

One thing you could try to see if it is the B2S backglass causing your issue. Go into the script and change the following line:

LaunchBackGlass "SuperSoccer_FS_B2S",true

to

LaunchBackGlass "SuperSoccer_FS_B2S",false

then try to play the table. The only thing you will notice is that there will be no scores visible when you play the table. But, if you can play the table without the backglass, then you will know that the backglass is causing the could not create offscreen surface error.

The B2S program is launced after the table has started so if the error comes during the table startup I doubt that B2S has anything to do with it.
It is more likely that the table is using many hi-res images, same images as in the FS release I would think.
Maybe you could try to export the playfield (and other) image and resize it in a paint program.

Thanks for the input rosve. Since this is the first table I have tried using B2S, I really do not know the ramafications (sp?) of using it with my system. However, just in case, I would still suggest to try setting the launch backglass to false just to see if he still gets the error, then we can eliminate B2S from the equation.

Thanks all !

I have other tables playing with the B2S, Time Zone (thanks rosve) & Jacks Open.
I thought that the editor would automatically resize the images to 1024 if the option is checked???
In the meantime, I´ve played some more games of the VP8 original, & this is definitely a very interesting table I´d really enjoy to be able to play here.

I believe you are probably correct. The playfield, and both sets of plastics are 1500x3000 pixel images.

These might be causing his issue on a lower end machine. The backdrop image is pretty large too.

Resize them in half, 1234fd, and see if that doesn't fix your issue.

Resized the images, no success. Maybe the problem is caused by transparencies? I already have the slider all way to the left?

You could try to delete that ramp over the whole playfield... That would remove the transparencies from the equation..

Just select the large ramp that covers the whole playfield. It's grey, and called 'ramp1'. If you click anywhere on the playfield in the editor, you're going to select it. Once you have it selected, hit the 'delete' key....

Then try to play the table...

Did that, did not work.I think the problem comes from my laptop, but I´d liked to understand why I can play some other tables with apparently the same characteristic . Rawd´s Triple Strike is another unplayable one.

Sorry, I did not mean to hijack your release thread, but you are guilty of revealing to me a very fine table I did not know, & I will keep the VP8 version.

You have done a fantastic job with the redrawing, this I could see.

I am having problems with the backglass too. The table plays fine but the backglass is messed up. It looks like I have multiple scoring boxes below the originals of all 4 player scores. The pin itself plays great . Could you just add the scoring boxes , like in a regular table without the B2s routines. Great work on this pin , and look for other releases down the road . This happens with all B2S tables . It's just the extra scoring boxes under the player scores . Is their anyone who can help me correct this .

Please import the new playfield and plastic images into Leon's table. You'll get the great VP8 version, along with the new updated graphics textures. wink.gif A little of the best of both worlds.
