WIZARD FS B2S

Version: 2.0.1
Category: VP 9.x B2S Cabinet Tables (B2S)

Author(s): rosve

Description:
Bally 1975, Fullscreen version for vp911 with active backglass on second display.
As vp910 is far from being a stable release I thought I should make an FS release of this table that is playable in vp90x.

-----------------------------------------------------------

This update includes an active backglass process that runs on the second display.
Please read the installation guide to set it up correctly.

---------------------------------------------------------
update 1.1.1:
VP911 Layback view.
New improved Backglass.

----------------------------------------------------
Update 1.1.2
- Added the possibility to define witch screen the backglass is displaying on.
------------------------------------------------------
Update 1.1.3
- Fixed a bug in the screen configuration for the backglass
- When the backglass is started it automatically sets the focus to the Visual Pinball Player process. This is needed if you want to launch the backglass from the table script.
---------------------------------------------------------
Update 2.0.0
- New B2S version 2 backglass

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 2.0.1
-The size and position of the backglass can be set in the ScreenRes file. No change to the table.

A backglass png for HyperPin is also included.

I noticed the scores are in the bottom left corner. Does this mean a backglass will not keep score? By the way the table looks gorgeous. Thanks for all of the hard work.

VP does not have 2 monitor support, and UVP will not display EM reels. Hopefully this can be fixed someday soon. smile.gif

I always use a static backglass image on the second screen. Of course the score reels don't work but it looks nice on the cab.
This is a link to the backglass image I use for this table,

Rosve, I keep getting errors when using this with the active backglass.
Closes out VP and has MS report message,
Comes up with error message in HP.

Loads up ok, errors when start playing.

Are the other bg's ok?
This one is a little bit of a mess, pretty much a prototype. I am going to update it later this week but it will never look as good as the new backglasses.

Rosve
Found a few bugs in Wizard v1.11

When rolled over, the 100,000 light doesn't reset for the next game.
also goes from 99,990 to 010,000 , not 000,000.
When rolled over again on the next game with 100,000 still lit, it gives an xtra ball.

Cant seem to get the Backglass to display on my 2nd monitor. I did include that line (the number 2) in the Screen.txt file but it still comes up on the 3rd display. Any ideas?

Thanks, nice table!

Make sure there are no spaces before or after the display number.
Try to move the backglass to display 1 then 2 then 3 and see whitch screen it shows up on.
Stupid question but did you use the latest backglass exe?

Wow, thanks for the quick reply.

I checked and tried your tips. Nothing changed.

I did find a few extra spaces behind the last line in the ScreenRes.txt. I removed them and same thing happens.

I tried to enter 1 then 2 then 3 (only one number each time) on the last line and still the backglass shows up on display 3.

I am using the .EXE file I downloaded with the updated table. I just downloaded them this morning from the "Latest Updated" section of this forum.

This also happens on the other updated tables you just uploaded in the last few weeks where you have added the ability to change monitors. Strange World for example. I see others have been able to add the display choice line and they seem to have success. I wonder if there is something in my setup keeping the change from happening. Your other tables that I have not updated with your newer upgrade let the backglass show up just fine on my 2nd monitor.

I can't really find a cause by looking in my code. It all looks correct (using the built in windows functions to set the screen).
You could help me with the debugging by downloading and executing this file
B2S_debug
When you start this program it will display the Wizard backglass with a large textbox on it. If you could copy the text in this box and forward it to me, maybe I can understand why it isn't working.

Interesting, I had to turn my unit-virus off (Norton) to get that to download. It must see this .exe file as a threat. I'll run it later and get back to you with the results.

Thanks again!

OK, I ran that debug program. The Text box only said this:

\\. \Display3

Cant really tell if there is a space between the . and the \

I do have a ton of Windows XP Services turned off. Could it be one of them being off that would cause this?

Thanks again for all your time and effort on this. I really like your tables and backglasses. It would be a shame if I couldn't run them.

Thanks for running the debug program.
That string is exactly what I wanted to see. It means that my program is working correctly. When you type 2 into the screenres.txt I am asking Windows if there is a diplay called \\.\DISPLAY2 available. In your case it is as if Windows does not return the display names and therefor the backglass program takes the last screen in the list.
Are you using compatibility mode NT or W2K? If so, change to XP sp3 mode and try again.

For all my future backglasses I will try a different approach to read the Windows Screen list. Until then you can use the old backglasses that are working on your PC.

Edit:
Also make sure that the ScreenRes file you are editing is in the same directory as the backglass exe.

I was afraid it was on my side. No I'm nor running any of these .EXE files in any Compatibility Mode. I checked by Right Clicking on your .EXE file, choosing Properties, and checking under the Compatibility Tab. Is there any other place to check this? I'm not using XP sp3. I'm using sp2 and as I said I shut down most Services.

Any other ideas?

How can I find the last version of Strange World and Wizard? I don't have the older files of these two.

Thanks!

Thanks, Dave
