Version: 1.0.0
Category: VP 9.x MOD Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): Vidmouse,

Description:
Original table by luvthatapex. He agreed to let me mod it for fullscreen for a cabinet I'm building. I also modded the sounds a bit, pulling some from the original Buck Rogers show.

Hi Vidmouse,

I modded this table a while back for my personal use and had the same problem I've found in your version. The captive ball at the top center of the table does not eject into the lane. I would recommend the following changes as a temp fix. (rather than suggesting that the area around the kicker be rebuilt with a one way gate to allow the ball out but not back in.)

Before starting any editing, make a backup copy of the table to ensure you have the original FS MOD table safe to revert back to. (in case you deleted the download archive file).

First, change the the kicker named "centerBallKicker" to a kicker display type of "kicker invisible" - this step might not be necessary...

Second, change the x-co-ordinate of the "centerBallKicker" to 494.5

Third, you will need to add some script code in case the ball gets captured during play. Click on the "Script" button and scroll down to line 384 in the script and insert the following lines.

CODE
Sub centerBallKicker_Hit()
    centerBallKicker.Kick -100, 10 'original value = 6
End Sub

On the script window, click on "script" and choose "compile" from the drop down list.

Lastly, save the table under a new name. For example save it as "Buck Rogers VP9 FS 1.0.1.vpt" to differentiate it from the original download.

I haven't played it in a while so I'm not 100% certain if the position of the inserted script code is the proper place but I'm sure with some additional testing on your part you'll discover if it works or needs to be moved somewhere else in the script. Thanks for releasing this FS by the way! dblthumb.gif

Thanks Todd, your fix worked for me. I did not have to make the kicker invisible.

I was also disappointed that I couldn't use the UVP, but oh well, at least I have another table.

Thanks Vidmouse and Todd.

Well, the VP8 pinmame "desktop" 4x3 version is here for downloading, there's nothing preventing Vidmouse from modifying that with his sounds and then uploading an update. And I apologize if my comments above were taken as poking fun at Vidmouse! I was actually poking fun at myself for not noticing that the MOD from Vidmouse was a non-pinmame table. Sometimes I can be a bit excited and can overlook some details.

Best Regards,
Todd.

Thanks for the advice and tips!
I hadn't intended on making a UVP version
Actually I'm kinda new at this and don't even
know what UVP is ....

but once I finish with another project I'm
working on I'll be sure to look it up and
see if I can make the requested update!

Glad you liked the submission so far!

Yeah, Thanks Vidmouse, dblthumb.gif I have the pinmame VP9 desktop version of Buck Rogers working with my fixes and Dutchman's UVP backglass (great job FD!) and I can't wait to play your audio enhanced version of the pinmame Buck Rogers when you get around to it! Thanks for uploading this.

Ok, I'm still new at this, but from what I can gather, all you're really asking is for a VP8 version of the table
with my sounds added? I.e. no rotation to make it FS, no conversion to VP9... right?
Shouldn't be a problem.

I still have no idea how UVP works....

It's not really for me personally, I've already modded Buck Rogers for myself, I was merely mentioning it because you already have permission to upload a VP9 FS version of Buck Rogers for the folks who would like a pinmame version that could be further modded for personal use to use a UVP backglass...

I downloaded the FS and the desktop version. The FS version seems to be based on an older version of the desktop table, although it was uploaded after the desktop table?!
The posts are "new style" posts, the lights have been replaces with different lights and the table is now a VPM table.
So for FS, i have to recommend using the VP8 table, change the settings in the backdrop to the settings from the FS table and fix the center kicker with the fix from kruge99.
Anything i missed?
