Still just barely you can see slight ghosting of the ball on the left monster slide ramp at the top with those settings UW. Hardly noticeable though and it doesn't bother me at all so I'll just keep it this way instead of shrinking the table more.

Sorry i can't seem to hit the shot.
xscale 1.72
yoffset 338

thanks uw for the info.
I changed xscale to 1.72 and yoffset to 338, but during gameplay the ball always comes back when I hit the left ramp (i can't beat the left ramp, indifferently which ball-speed/power).

is there any fix?

thanks!

cheers
Chris

For me yes, it was 909 only.

I have re-uploaded the table with these zoom settings:

XScale 1.745
YScale 2,16
YOffset 330

This is just an aesthetic change and it doesn't affect the table's play, so I keep the same version number. The reason of the change is to remove the error with the ball not being erased on the upper left ramp. This is how VP renders the ball, and if you zoom too much you'll see it as there is no way for VP to know that the ball should be erased. I tried a suggestion by destruk but it didn't work so good with this kind of redrawing error. The idea was to make the ball invisible when reaching the top of the ramp, but it worked quite well on the ball image, but you still could see the shadow and the small ball decal smile.gif. Using a kicker to destroy the ball and create it further on the ramp wasn't an option either since it destroys a little the gameplay. So "if you can't fight them, join them!" and I simply adjusted the zoom values and let VP do its job displaying the ball smile.gif

I suggest to use VP9.0.8 to play this table since VP9.0.9, at least in my computer, makes the bumpers inactive.

After 18 years making tables, it is time to take a rest and let new authors do their thing.

I guess at last I'll play some more pinball :). But I'm sure I'll make some table updates from time to time :)

Look for the following in the script

'************
' Table init.
'************

Sub Elvira_Init
vpmInit me
With Controller
.GameName = cGameName
If Err Then MsgBox "Can't start Game" & cGameName & vbNewLine & Err.Description:Exit Sub
.SplashInfoLine = "Elvira and the Party Monsters - Williams 1989" & vbNewLine & "VP9 table by JPSalas 1.0"
.HandleKeyboard = 0
.ShowTitle = 0
.ShowDMDOnly = 1
.ShowFrame = 0
.HandleMechanics = 0
.Hidden = 0
.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("rol")=1
'.SetDisplayPosition 0,0,GetPlayerHWnd 'uncomment if you can't see the dmd
On Error Resume Next
.Run GetPlayerHWnd
If Err Then MsgBox Err.Description
On Error Goto 0
End With

And make sure line 57 of the script looks like mine does above, i.e.

.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("rol")=1

The line shouldn't start with '
Compile the script, close it, and save the table and you're set.

Sorry to bump this thread...

Can someone tell me how to make the DMD normal sized? Mine is in the top right of the screen and is HUGE and stretched. I cannot see the upper right playfield at all...none of the other games do this.

Thanx,
Maceman

PS. Great Graphics and Table JP!!!

_______________________EDIT__________________________

Ok...as normal I found an answer to my own question smile.gif

For anyone else who stumbles on this thread looking to solve this, right-click on the DMD and pick 'show window border' then drag the corners to the size or location you want!!!

Any chance of a fix for the monster slide iisue? I had to switch over to VP9.1.1 to run the latest table releases and of course it broke the monster slide. No matter what I do, the ball keeps getting kicked back down the ramp.

Oh yeah, awesome job with all your table releases. Thanks for all of them. dblthumb.gif

You can use my method explained here http://www.vpforums....showtopic=12906 to launch elvira in whatever older version of vpinball it runs in.

Indeed!!! Hopefully all of JP's new build from scratch tables will use Uncle Willy sized balls, for the extra realistic feel

Ok, about ball sizes: THERE IS NOTHING CALLED UW SIZED BALLS. I just had to shout a little. All the balls are reduced to the same size in VP, that's 50 units, and it doesn't matter the image you use. I know that VP91x has a new command to use in the "kicker.createball", but since the balls are created by the core.vbs then there is no way I can change the ball in my vpinmame tables, at least not without writing my own subs instead the core.vbs, but who want to do that? So I repeat again: the ball size is calculate by VP itself depending of the size and height of the table. If you make a table with a width of 982 and another table with a width of 1024 then the ball in the 982 table will look bigger. If you put higher ramps then the ball will look smaller. Even changing the view angle will have an effect on the look of the ball. So can we now move on smile.gif ?
