Hey everyone, just a quick, simple question..

Can you control altsound files in the script for a ROM-based table? Example. If I wanted to play random songs instead of the ROM's background play music, could this be done?

Thanks in advance to anyone that might help. :)

I did this exact thing with the NFL mods.

What I did was mute all music that was in the altsound file, and scripted in random football music. So had new music with all of the rom sound effects still intact.

Just mute any music you find in the altsound package.

Right. So, while playing, if you enable, say a multiball background music altsound call out in the ROM, does that stop your scripted random background music and then start it again after multiball is finished?

No, you will need to have something that you can trigger, when multiball is imminent.

Right. Was hoping for an alternative to muting and replacing the actual altsound file. I know you can turn on/off the ROM sounds completely but I was hoping you could control each altsound (on/off, etc.) sound individually through VPX scripting via VPinMame. :(
