The ball sometimes gets airborne off that group of switch/rubbers and I added measures to prevent it getting stuck and direct it toward the bumper area. Real tables do that often enough, so I left it at that and the game goes on :)

Ah - so it's not so much a physics "problem" - it's actual physics being compensated for in a way that doesn't disturb the game.  That's important, because I got past Kobayashi Maru and 4 modes in to the second set of modes.   By far my best score - had it been lost due to a stuck ball, I'd not have been in a good place mentally.  :)  Nicely done, and thx!!!  :)

Hey all!  So i was getting a ton of lag and only on this game.  The fix was to use 10.7 and not the newest 10.8.  Runs almost flawlessly!

This is an example of how taxing are the primitives on the fps. It is not Bigus fault, it is how the table was made, converting everything to primitives. I'm using an i7 10th and a RTX 3080 and I usually get over 400 fps on most tables ( I use  vsync to limit to 144hz), but in this table I get max 85 fps (VPX7) or between 67 and 85 with VPX8 DX. But if you have a nice GPU then try the GL version of VPX8 :) I get a steady 144fps with the GL version :)

These are my tables, sorted by date, all them playable with VPX 7 or newer:

After 18 years making tables, it is time to take a rest and let new authors do their thing.

I guess at last I'll play some more pinball :). But I'm sure I'll make some table updates from time to time :)

You can also try the version by TastyWasps/nfozzy and see if that one runs smoother on your system.

I just played it using VPX8 RC3 and had no problems keeping up a steady frame rate (FPS between 240 and 270 when unsynched).

Or play my table :D

Well, if your tables can't be run smoothly then you might as well give up on Visual Pinball.

Did some testing; the TW/nf table is actually very similar in frame rate to yours on my system and both seem to perform considerably better on 10.8 RC3 than 10.7.3 (though I did compare the FPS using MSI Afterburner on 10.7 and the internal monitoring on 10.8).

Can't say there's been a lag issue in all the years it's been published. Lots of issues seem to be cropping-up with various tables as people move to VP and VPM betas. When 10.8 lands and settles, I'll address any issues that still persist but, until then, I'm not too keen to go running around stamping-out fires when it may be fixed in the next beta.

The table works fine in the environment in which it was built.
