Hello
Are you still continuing this project?

No, I can't afford a lawsuit over this.

Well this sux then. I played this like hell in the Arcades and then was forced to move away so I can't have access to the real table anymore.

I guess our only hope is Farlight studios or something similar selling it through legal retail channels.

If it were me and I spent years on this project, I would strip all names/identify from the script/table and leak it behind the scenes, so people could enjoy it.

No chance of that. Farsight has already said they have no plans to recreate Pinball 2000 machines, due to the hardware they run on.

If you didn't copy code, how is there a law suit...or what are they going after you for exactly?

Yeah, this. Copyrighted music, sound effects, graphics and animations, layout, and the only way to get it accurate and 'clean' is by ripping it from the NuCore hardware/software product, or from the copyrighted films.

Can the table be "cloned"? Just with a standard numeric display (and lots and lots of coding) without the copyrighted video and music?

^^ I don't think there's a point in doing that... then it wouldn't be a real recreation.

Honestly? This is something that needs to be in the hands of the community to complete, and share.

No one company can do anything when an ENTIRE community is working on it. Make it an open source item, and wash your hands of it.
They can't do anything to you individually if you aren't part of it.

Put the code on a flash drive, and mail it to me. I'll pay for the flash drive, and the shipping, and I'll leak it myself.

With all the stuff that Williams lets us do with their IP, basically turning a blind eye to our community, you'd think we'd be smart enough to honor the ONE THING that they've asked us not to mess with.

Do you really want to poke the hornets nest like this? They've been clear on this one, multiple times. I say let it go.
I am, therefore I run.

You know I want every table released at some point, but this thread here would kind of point the finger at Destruk even if someone else "leaked" it and since its his ass on the line, just let it go. We can live without 2 tables, lots more to play with and maybe later something else will happen that we can then play it.

Yeah, companies like Williams do have access to a killswitch for this community. If they really wanted to, they could just tear us several new orifices and leave us broken, so it's best not to annoy them by going against the one thing they don't want us doing.

..Do people like this table? I mean, not as a VP table (i love anything VP), but the real table?

This was one of the several they had at Disney World Florida. I played one game only.
The tables at Disney stink for servicing in my opinion. Flippers on every table were either weak, or broken...and every table had issues.
But having said that, I was super eager to play pinball, and this one let me down for sure....

So, yeah, I am letting it go too.

Destruk/TAB team is still number one, especially without this table!

Thanks Maceman. I think this thread should be closed. The table can't be released, and I'm not going to 'leak it' to the internet.

Hey guys. I am pulling this out of cold storage and I'm asking TAB if he wants to get back into it or not. I had backed everything up to an IDE hard drive at the time.

My reasoning is in this post about Revenge from Mars -- https://www.vpforums...860#entry549881

For a game from 1991 (Episode 1), I think we'd want to play it on a pc at some point before we die, HA!

vpDisco is here: VPDisco 1.2B - VPForums.org

Don't expect anything soon - I'm going to need to get old hardware, an old video card, etc etc , and then I need to remember what methods I was using for the video captures and editing to make it work. If anyone wants to help with scripting/playtesting/narrowing down the rules and sound linkage beyond any doubt to make it accurate let me know.  I'll try to get a base version of the table uploaded soon.
