@3rdaxis i know but lazy to take out the keyboard looool

Stunning, stunning release - the sounds make a huge difference to the immersion and the table looks fantastic, huge thanks for the many many hours of work that obviously went into making this!

I'd also seen my that my shots seemed to be 'late' on this and also MM/TZ on MM I've been struggling to hit the castle which is a pretty easy shot and hitting the troll targets instead and on TZ I can't hit the extra-ball lane
Also with TZ the upper left flipper seems very late almost like the ball is extra-heavy for a milli-second (If it was a real table it would be flipper rebuild time ;) )

I've dropped the SOSRampup to 2.5 and things are better, apart from the upper left flipper on TZ which is if anything slightly worse with that setting.

TBH - the physics discussion may warrant it's own thread......

I have another question - I've never used exclusive full screen, I run my cabinet in windowed fullscreen with brute force AA and I've never had much of a problem with stuttering (so I've never really needed to investigate it to be honest - if it ain't broke and all that)
Does this have an effect on things like flipper speed or is it purely cosmetic?
I tried it for the first time the other day and just got a black screen on my PF and DMD screens having set DDraw=0 in the registry

Yes!, it have real impact for the reactivity to play in fullscreen.

!!!!! MISTAKE !!!!

On my feedback, i tell i use adaptive sync for the test i made for @rothbauerw... It's not adaptiv sync but "FAST SYNC" i used in nvidia control panel

Sorry for the mistake

Edit 2 after i see my mistake:

I make quick test with adaptiv sync for those who play like i written first. It seem to be the same in performance and quality for playing.

With all the physics discussion on the thread, pardon my noob ignorant question, but which SOSRampup value closely resembles the real machine? 8.5 or 2.5? I also struggle to hit shots in the new TOM which makes me want to punch my cabinet in frustration, but I also remember the real table being punishing as hell if you miss your shots. I prefer realism over ease of play. Thoughts?

Thoughts ? Yes. If you read the thread - some prefer 2.5 and others 8.5 so do the obvious - test it and decided yourself what works for you. Might be a good idea to read what pr. example JLouLoulou says if none of those changes works for you. It has become quite obvious to me that there is no one setting fits all solution here. I have very different settings from what JLouLoulou mentiones, I've played with 2 for VSync and Prerender for a long time in windowed mode. Might be related to why I can't hit where I want with 8.5 set. There is alot of factors when we're talking ms tuning. One thing we always seem to ignore is driver versions.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

I will be updating my setting to use 2.5 for SOSRampup going forward.  The next updated TOM will have that change in it.

I think the physics discussion is ok here as it relates mostly to this version of the currently released table.  Hopefully it will improve physics going forward and will definitely give me something to keep my eye on as we look into the physics engine for the upcoming versions of VP.

@grunger106

One thing you can try with the upper TZ flipper is to increase the strength.

Hello Fleep,

I can't check the 2.1 release right now, did you put the addition i mentioned earlier in the topic, 8t is 8n bold below

Sub UpdateGI(no, step)
'TextBox.text = no & " " &  step
Dim xx
If step = 0 then exit sub 'only values from 1 to 8 are visible and reliable. 0 is not reliable and 7 & 8 are the same so...
gistep = (step-1) / 7
If step = 8 then 'GI is on
DOF 101, DOFOn
Else
DOF 101, DOFOff
End If
Select Case no
...

This is for activating the rgb undercab action in DOF

Okay. We will keep in mind to include these.

EDIT

We will make a new version with these now. Roth will add the lines and test it.

Thanks for the update.  I finally got a chance to try this in VR yesterday, the overall look of the table is pretty fantastic.  The playfield itself came off darker (quite dark) than on desktop or pincab but that may be something to do with specific PC hardware configuration on my VR PC or the VR build of VPVR I'm using.  Of course, ZERO lag in VR Pinball means I'm early on every friggin shot for a while, until the brain gets used to it lol

The light show and sound output really for me has given this table a new lease on life.  I'm not the biggest fan of this table in real life. It's an excellent design, but it's also more shallow* than I usually like so I got tired of it years ago. In saying that, the last two days I can't seem to get enough of this pin!  Almost every table released, you think there's a way to maybe see an improvement here or there but with this one, I dunno, aside from a VPX11 light show upgrade, I don't see much opportunity for improvement!  That's to the testament of all involved.  Thanks!

* I don't mind "shallow" pins. In the modern era, Tron is my fav pin and it's got a pretty shallow ruleset
