After playing Stranger Things in VPVR, I went to OrbitalPin's site to see what other magic was out there... That's when I found Diablo... (and Beatles!) AMAZING work, thank you so much!! Any chance of these being adapted into VPVR as well?

can someone post a script edit that doesnt feature malthael sending the ball straight down the middle or 10,000 mph that is actually awful. i want to enjoy this table but i hate it because the stupid maltheal

Nope sorry, there is no script with the power to overcome the Evil of Malthael 
Only you the player can overcome that

or i just play other tables without cheap mechanics. if there is going to be a feature that throws the ball out of play we should be able to turn it off without having to modify the physical table.

I guess you won't play either Oktoberfest (the real machine), since it includes 2 magnets that work just the same as in this Diablo table

Or a few other tables actually, there are a few real tables that do crazy magnet attacks

 

Personally, i have never had that much trouble with diablo's magnet attack
Give him a good nudge when he throws the ball.

Each to their own opinion i guess but, does not really make sense
Kind of like saying that in baseball, if the ball is going to be hit out of the park, you should be able to stop the ball and have it just drop down to the outfielder standing at the wall
Or any other challenging thing.

Where is this Diablo.UltraDMD folder? There is a table and a manual in the download. That's it.

 

For context, I have never heard of UltraDMD and I am trying to run the table desktop.

Nope. No folders in there. I see video files, audio files and a PNG file.

Try downloading v1.0 or v1.03DOF, as they have the UltraDMD folder included.

The other 2 versions do not have the folder included.

 

Just place this folder in same folder as the table.

Okay, still trying to get UltraDMD to run for the first time for a desktop setup. I've got the Diablo.UltraDMD folder inside of the tables folder.

 

The DMD does not show up at all. Tried alt-tab to make sure it wasn't behind the table. The table runs fine but no DMD at all.

Yes, I did use the installer. Visual Pinball is 10.7 and there is a XDMD folder within the Visual Pinball folder.

I even think I have tried running UltraDMD from the command prompt, once with /i and once with the /config switch. There was no response of any kind.

Does the installer deal with permissions? Do I need to make sure anything is running as admin? I've been away from the hobby for a while, but I seem to recall that being an issue in the past.

You shouldn't need to run anything as Administrator., as now the Installer defaults install to C: instead of Program Files.

As UltraDMD is kind of a dead end anyways, may i make a suggestion?

 

1) Put the XDMD folder in the recycle bin
2) Get this file and unzip it into your vpinmame folder, allow overwrite if needed dmdext-v1.10.2-x86.zip

3) Get this file and unzip it into your vpinmame folder also, the run flexDMDUI.exe and click the 2 register buttons FlexDMD.zip
4) Test real quick by clicking the ultraDMD and flexDMD tabs and run the demo, you should get a DMD display that pops up

 

At that point, providing you have the Diablo.UltraDMD folder inside the tables folder, diablo's DMD should work.
and so should any other UltraDMD or FlexDMD table.

Thanks for the step-by-step on installing FlexDMD. Stepping back into this hobby and seeing the advances in what can be rendered is quite impressive.
