Hi gogo69,

thank You for Your remark. Now, that You mentioned it, I can see it too - there is the blue-stripe-decal missing just at the end of the right ramp. This will be fixed together with some missing green plastics below the right ramp. Once You look closer to a specific area, also the minor things are popping up.

For the GI illumination I have to take a step back. My cabinet with it's 512MB video card is not able to cope with the added alpha ramps, so I have to find a different approach or leave the feature out.

Regards

Michael

Hi Michael, could you add some ball rolling / dropping sounds to this real nice done table ?

Is there a donation system here or only on the "other" side ?

Hi Ringorian,

no donations necessary for me, I just do it for the fun of it (and for my own cabinet of course). But You are always welcome to contribute to the web site.

For the sounds, I have to check what possibilities there are. Do You have any tables in mind that already have those sounds in place?

Regards

Michael

Okay, I have scratched my head til it's bleeding and I can't figure this one out.  What is so different between ver. 1.3 & 1.4.1 That 1.3 displays fine on my system but 1.4.1 won't show the table until the ball rolls over an area.  Both versions play fine it's just 1.4.1 has missing graphics to start with.  I have tried setting my Max. textures and Alpha ramps at min. with no change.  I can always just play 1.3 but I am really curious what change could have caused such difference.

Here are two pics, one is what I get with 1.4.1 and the other shows ball trails where the ball rolling over has revealed the graphics. (Sorry for the small image size, I can't seem to upload anything larger)

Hi Shadowclassic,

I do not think, that the version changes are the reason. Did You change any of Your video settings or installed a new graphics driver?

In v1.4.1 I introduced a new Sub "UpdateGI" and increased the timer interval of Timer3 (upper left) from 60 to 400. You can comment the code within the Sub or change the timer interval.

The main changes were the ramp edges and the missing ramp decal.

Regards

Michael

Is "Hardware Device Rendering" in the "Video options" checked?

Thanks mfuegemann & Herweh for you suggestions I tried them and here is what I found:

Device rendering was on, both  version fail to run if I turn it off.

I tried changing the timer back to 60, commenting out the code, I even cut the script out of ver. 1.3 and pasted it in ver. 1.4.1 and still got the missing graphics.

It's weird that so little got changed but the old version works fine and the new version has major problems.

I'll try downloading a new driver for my video card. to see what that does.  This is on my older desktop system not my new cab PC that is waiting for a new LCD.  If I can't get it going I'll just use the 1.3 version until I get my cab back up and going after the Christmas budget crunch.

Another thing to look at is to see if the 'fake aa' is turned on in the global video options and in the table options... if it is, try turning it off

Bingo! We have a winner!   Thanks a lot koadic turning fake AA OFF fixed the problem.

I tell you, I am getting so confused anymore with the settings on these tables. It seems like one table comes out and they tell you turn this ON and That OFF and then a couple tables later they tell you to swap them.

Is there a list of settings that will work on every table or do we just have to tweak around every time we start playing a new or older table we haven't played in a while?

Hi,

glad to see Your problem solved Shadowclassic! Sometimes VP is quite weird, especially with its DX7 / one cpu core limitations.

Hi TedB,

good that You like the table! Wait until You see the next version. Ringorian pushed me to rework the sounds and I want to speed up the transparent ramps too.

It will be done as soon as I finish off the first wave of remarks on my new Rocky&Bullwinkle.

Regards

Michael
