unclewilly, any thoughts on the following issue?

"I've tried redownloading this table twice. Keep getting a script error 'Line: 1448 Overflow' before it draws the table. If i hit ok i then get another script error 'Line: 0 Overflow'. Any suggestions?"

Thanks.

Same thing for me on my xp 64 install but on the 32 bit xp it's work
What the deal ?

Up please, I have the same problem since I moved to XP x64, and a lot of other bugs as well (mostly line 0 overflow) everywhere...

Does anyone get the overflow error on operating systems other than Win XP 64? Just trying to confirm this.

Also, I haven't seen any complaints about this error for the 4:3 version. Odd.

could be an NVram issue

remove your nvram file into a safe place and add the modified one for this table to reset everything if that does not fix it add your original nvram back

maybe you could try going into the cfg folder and remove the freddy config file.
I've never had this problem except with baffled cats, but it only happened after multiple plays but it fixed itself after the editor was restarted.

hopefully the cfg file will work.

the other option would be to pull up regedit and go to the pinmame path and delete the freddy registry entry

deleting the crg didn't work. BUT that other trick you mentioned did i went into the editor and just saved it than started the table it came back but it's gone again soon as i loaded it in hyperpin it vanished.

I don't know if this will be helpful to anyone or not but what the heck. I just recently tried downloading this table to give it a spin and found it to be unplayable. The problems I have are sound samples severely stuttering and out of order. Also, when I exit the table, sound will not function for any table I load (without restarting VP). I do not think this has anything to do with UW's table design (GI lighting or not) since I can play all of his other tables smooth as silk. However, this is the only Gotlieb table from this era that I have on my test rig. But I do have dual boot....so I installed VP, VPMame, Hyperpin on my XP 32 bit disk and tried again. The problem is gone and the table plays smooth as silk, just like all of his other tables. I have read in other posts that UW thinks that some stutter is possibly a sound emulation issue. I would tend to agree with this considering the sound issues I encountered with are with WIN 7 only. Since the issues went away on my XP 32 bit disk, I have to wonder if this is possibly a 32 bit 64 bit issue (other posters have indicated similar issues with XP 64) or just a Gotlieb sound emulation issue. I do not have a copy of XP 64 to confirm with, but it does seem strange that alot of the issues reported with this table come from people running 64 bit OS flavors. Again, this leads me to believe this would be an emulation problem, possibly only affecting the Gotlieb tables and or 64 bit OS.

Has anyone got this playing smoothly on any 64 bit operating systems?

Might just be that the PinMame team may need to look at this at some point.

FYI...

Sys Specs

Intel I5 2300
8 Gig Ram
1TB HD
ATI 4650 (Crappy ATI card by any standard and still plays all UW's tables smoothly execpt this at 64 bit)
Sound Blaster sound card

WIN 7 (Crappy)
XP 32 (Great)

Would like to hear from others having similar problems or sucess. I would really like to hear from UW on what he thinks. Seems like he gets alot a flack for high end tables, but I don't see any performance issues on any table I have downloaded of his (except for this and I think its an emulation issue).

Also..if UW reads this. Can't wait for BBB it looks awesome but understand the delay since I have read that you started reproducing table authors (good plan for the future...lol). Also, just wondering maybe...someday....NM for JP AFM table?? Love the work and keep it up! You are da Man!

Imagine glad you posted.
I have xp 32 on all of my pcs.
I believe this is why when people post about these performance issues i don't know what to do about fixing them because i can't reproduce the issues.
Even in Freddie i have the option to turn off the alpha flashes so that isn't the issue.
This leads me to believe that it is either an emulation issue or possibly now that you mention it a 64 bit or directx10 or 11 or whatever its up tonow issue.
Because all tables play smooth for me, even the dreaded flashvp monopoly table on my xp 32 with direct 9c.
Even on my low end athalon dual core with 2 gb ram and single 9800 gte+ 1gb

maybe this should be in its own thread. Id like to hear from some people having performance issues as to whether they are using 32 or 64 bit os and directx 9 or 10th/11

If it is because the voice sounds are too low, maybe this post in this thread can help you:

You probably need to download the preconfigured nvrams.  Unzip the following file into your nvram folder and you be able to add credits:

This is a great table, and being dark suits its mood :-)

My only mona would be the audio is really low quality, is that the ROM, or is it using samples and if so, can I force it to use the ROM? Only found out some tables allow this ;ast weekend though playing around but the difference is amazing :)

Thanks for any advice

Also I have found a backglass for it here - hope it's ok to link?

I think there are setting in the VPinMame setup that you can adjust to achieve this.

capturex_t.png

Also you can click on the DMD with your mouse and hit the tilde key on your keyboard,(The key under the ESC key and to the left of number 1 key.) This will bring up a volume adjustment screen that should be all the way to the right to have full volume. If yours is not all the way to right, just click the right arrow key to adjust it to full volume.

Hope this helps.

If this doesn't help you, then somebody with more experience will be able to help you shortly. (I am just a beginner)

This should be the procedure that xenonph is referring to to raise the volume of the channels in this game:

1. Click on the DMD window with the mouse

2. Press the tilde (~) key. This will bring up a white box inside the DMD window.

3. Using the up and down arrow keys, scroll through the options in the white box until you see YM2151 #0 Ch.1 in the white box.

4. Using the left and right arrow keys, adjust the channel volume. Using the left arrow key will lower the channel volume, the right arrow key will raise the channel volume.

5. Using the up and down arrow keys, scroll through the options in the white box until you see YM2151 #0 Ch.2 in the white box.

6. Repeat step 4 to adjust the channel volume

7. Using the up and down arrow keys, scroll through the options in the white box until you see MSM5295 #0 (voice 0) in the white box.

8. Repeat step 4 to adjust the volume of that channel

9. Using the up and down arrow keys, scroll through the options in the white box until you see MSM5295 #0 (voice 1) in the white box.

10. Repeat step 4 to adjust the volume of that channel

11. Using the up and down arrow keys, scroll through the options in the white box until you see MSM5295 #0 (voice 2) in the white box.

12. Repeat step 4 to adjust the volume of that channel

13. Using the up and down arrow keys, scroll through the options in the white box until you see MSM5295 #0 (voice 3) in the white box.

14. Repeat step 4 to adjust the volume of that channel

15. Press the tilde key (~) to close the white box

16. Click anywhere on the table to return focus to the table.

Hope this helps.
