Please don't move to DX 12 but to Vulkan instead. The effort should almost be the same and it is much more future-proof, platform indepentent and likeable because it isn't proprietary.

Apart from VP being windows-centric all over the place.  ;)

Toxie,

Would it be possible to have an auditing mechanism that could be used to detect images, sounds and materials that are NOT being used on the table? If such a thing existed, one could quickly weed out unused resources as to shrink the size of tables and maintain good performance.

Thanks

I would still like to see that the regular copy/paste menus are in the context menu, too....

Yes i will add this inn the next version.

I would still see that the regular copy/paste menus are in the context menu, too....

Can you explain why? I always use the hotkeys ctrl+c and ctrl+v when I copy paste something. It's much faster imho.

something I would like to suggest for future versions is, that the script window remembers its last position!

Now, I always have to fetch it from the very left position on the screen to where I stand. This is exactly the place I NEVER am, when working on the cab :) Or alternatively, I think for most people it would be ideal, if it fires up at the right position...

Awesome.

Once more question. Would it be possible for you to create a spreadsheet that could be used to attach requests and such. It would be on post one of the 10.3 thread and would need to be a real-time spreadsheet such as how Google spreadsheet does it. This way, everyone would have clear visibility to the requests that are made as well as their implementation status. But we would all need write access to it in order to add or edit.

It would make tracking stuff tons easier especially for you two.

Thanks.

Or you could use the bug tracker. You can flag these requests as suggestions and we could filter them

Could we get a sub category for 10.3? What about a brand new category with filtering capability for just this very thing?

Maybe even name it "VP10.3 feature requests" and use it for just that Feature requests only? Just throwing stuff out so the visibility is improved.

Oh yes, that will be fine. The script-window open always in the left upper corner of my 46"-Monitor (Portrait-mode). So I always must pull it down.

Otherwise I can't read the script. My eyes are not good enough. :-)

And please: Not only the position; also the size of the window.

hmmm, how about things like scale, rotate etc in the menus, the pop-up doesn't always work when multiple items selected, my current work around: select a bunch of stuff by windowing around, shift-click one of them to deselect it, shift-click that one again then right click it to pop up the menu.  seems like that only works if you right-click the last item selected.

what would also be really cool is if I could have 2 script windows open at the same time (same table), i find myself copying pasting from within the same script a lot but would like to keep both sections open.

I have just tried a couple of VPX10.2 tables, but the flasher lights are causing a really bad screen tearing effect. I am getting this with adaptive Vsync turned on even though I am not dropping below 60fps? I find normal Vsync stops the tearing, but makes the motion of the ball much less smooth even though the fps doesn't drop below 60. Running 10.2 (2881) (Fullscreen, 2 Screen Set-up) and 2.8b on an I5 [email protected] with a GTX 950. Any suggestions. Without Vsync I average 230+fps.

Adaptive Vsync which is great for some tables, but is actually worse than no Vsync at all with flasher lights as it causes the tearing to appear in the same place making it more noticeable.

You have to enable Aero in Windows System/advanced settings.

adaptive vsync is implemented a bit on the (w)hacky side inside of VP.

if you can, then disable vsync in the VP preferences and enable adaptive vsync (or even better: "fast vsync" !) in the NVIDIA panel directly instead, as then the driver will do it properly.

Thanks am using Windows 7. Enabling Aero and setting the 2nd screen to 60Htz to match the playfield seems to have solved the tearing. Thanks

I found a little bug with 10.2.1.  If I open Americas Most haunted when 1st running program, and un remark a few lines, then close the program it does NOT ask me to save changes.

True but it would be a step away from that and who knows someday VP might become completely platform independent. Just dreamin ... ;)

We will just wait that windows runs on all kinds of emulators (which is not that far out, btw! e.g. x86 -> ARM that will come soon™ and also the wine project) and then we're set. :dblthumb:
