Whats a good backglass to do with this one ? 

 

I'm getting some funky stuff with this table. First time run ran fine. Then since then I get the sound emulation error. Hit okay and off it goes to startup.

Then when it started I'd hear a ball rolling sound but no buttons or keyboard would work to add credit/start game. ESC was only one worked to get out of it.

I had to edit it to 1 for stock table and music. FLEX option seemed to fubar it up. I run the lastest 1.8. Just doubled checked with Github. 

I have the pinmame display set not to show but yet still does.

Music sounds really  good tho.

I'm confused.

 

The page to download the table states, "Updated Yesterday, 02:03 AM"

That would be Aug 11th 2022, no?

 

But did I read you correctly that there was no update?

The table is at the top of the 'recent' list here.
 

I'm determined to get this table working for me as it's really cool.

 

But even when starting the table the scores on the backglass don't match the info on the dmd as regards to which ball and player are up.

So my new pc shouldn't have any issues with this one table.

It comes with a backglass, i am not sure if anyone made any alternate backglasses
there are the old backglasses for the VP9 table, they will work, they look like the stock backglass
i think they are 4.3 aperture though and low rez?

 

Sound emulation not 100% is because you dont have Vpinmame's ROM config set to enable cabinet mode for your roms
i would check that as the default, it surpresses pinmame startup screens and messages like that

If gives that warning because the sound emulation is not perfect, sometimes it may not play at all, or stop playing etc

A lot of people turn the ROM sound off for this ROM as they find it annoying since it does kind of sound like standing in a video arcade with every game in attract mode at the same time

 

It is possible that the DMD is causing too much cpu load on a single core
the DMD content is not low rez 128x32, it is HD 720x404 16m color 29.5fps
so freezys does have to do a good deal of image processing to convert it to a DMD compatible image, even downscaled to 128x32

 

If a person wanted, they could download the table
and convert it from FlexDMD use to PUP player instead
All the media is there for them already, all they have to do is go through the script replacing flexDMD code for PUP code.
That 'may' be less system intensive, i do not know this for sure as i dont use PUP

 

I can only say that i run the table on my desktop PC
which is just a standard VPX install and a very plain PinballX for a front end (no videos etc, just simple static screen shots of table backglass and dmd)
and have never had any issues running it, nor do the majority of the 6000 downloaders that i know of.

And if someone wants to submit it to DOFconfigtool under the ROM alias, that would be great, then the DOF will actually work and not conflict with the existing DOF config in DOFConfigtool
i cant, i dont have DOF so no DOF account
The DOF event ID's and type are listed both at the end of the table script, AND in the readme file.

 

Maybe this might help the few who are having trouble with the table's timers lagging causing the table to bug out
hopefully

If not, all i can suggest is run it without the DMD
I cant debug your PC from the vpx editor unfortunately.
I have tested it both on my desktop, and on my low end DeLL Latitude E5430 laptop, with the table, backglass and DMD running, and get 0 issues out of it.
If you want to try and make it run as PUP instead and see if that runs better for you, be my guest, everything you would need comes with the table
all the DMD media, and if you can make a PUP pak, i am sure you can figure out how to replace the FLexDMD commands with PUP commands.

Table actually has a lot of DOF events, but i only know one person who can actually see them as programmed
and that is because they built a DOF config for it based on my events table to test it since i dont have any dof to test it with.
It has shaker motor and beacons and under table light color changes and i think some strobe events and a bunch of other stuff not tied to the ROM.
DOF config tool as a DOFconfig for the ROM, but it doesn't exactly match the table, so if someone wants to make one for the alias and submit it, it would be nice to see it work as intended.

What do you mean a fix?
Nothing is broken.

 

What are your graphics settings, as there should be no white background

 

The lights are 
rflip

in VPX editor click EDIT and then Select Element
just find those 4 lights, double click to select one
set intensity to 0 and you will not see them at all

Although i have no idea why you see white circles?
The circular lamp is purple actually

To Anyone who still gets a divide by Zero error at line 751

 

open the script editor and go to line 751

 

Make the following change

if players=0 then players=1
player = (player + 1) mod (players)

I know why you are getting that error after getting a machine that can reproduce it side by side with machines with 0 issues

For whatever reason, the VPM LED display is pulsing MUCH slower (you will notice the active player's score pulses until the ball is ejected from the trough)
it pulses too slow for the script to reliably see how many players are existing on the score board and so comes up with 0

That change will make it assume that if the trough ejected a ball, and the answer it got is 0, then there must actually be at least 1 person playing.
It seems to catch up to the fact that there is a player 2 3 and or 4 playing by the time player 1 loses the 1st ball, so it should work in multi play
though i do not swear to have been able to test that to death, but it did work through a 3 and 4 player game.

 

I am probably going to do another update, but there is only so much i can do about that other than throw a work around in

I have no idea what table you are talking about, but i have no line 5359
and i also have no flasher video cap statements in the table at all

 

So what ever table you are loving, it isnt this one and i cant help you

Well I managed to get 1.4.1 working with the 'divide by zero' workaround.

 

Can only play one player but...I'll take it!

You dont need ultraDMD, you have flexDMD installed and registered as ultraDMD replacement in flexDMDUI.exe, right?
And what table option did you set for table mode?

I am going to assume you picked mode 2? and dont have flexDMD registered to replace UltraDMD or it should have ran anyways
Mode 2 would attempt to run UltraDMD, in case a person has UltraDMD and does not wish to install flexDMD for some reason

I would pick mode 3 regardless

If for some reason you stick with 1.4.1 then

 
if players=0 then players=1
player = (player + 1) mod (players)
Should allow you to play with 2 3 or 4 players

I must be losing it.

 

I have selected FLEX DMD mode 3 in version 1.5.0 (strongly recommended) and I swear I'm getting the ULTRA DMD error. 

 

But I am enjoying 1.4.1.
