Is FSS going to get dual screen support in 10.5? Sorry if this was brought up already but man could the back glasses be made with some depth if we could get that done!

Not sure if the dual screen support will ever come in a 10.x version. It's not only the rendering on a second screen but more the integration into the editor. So you can design a backglass the same way like db2s.

I think VPX can already do everything we need to build the backglass.  I'm very happy with backglass I was able to build for Jive Time.  What took me a couple of hours in VPX, took me several days to replicate in the B2S editor.  And I'm much happier with the VPX result.

I think all you really need is the ability to render a camera view to a second screen ... if the author was able to control the camera parameters like they can now for the playfield.  If that's possible, wouldn't the changes to the editor be minimal (like adding the FSS view)?

You got it Roth.. a camera that can be placed anywhere in editor, distance and FOV adjustable, and when the table is played it projects to a second display.. that's it exactly..

I think VP would also need plug-in support for DOF and SSF as B2S Server would not be running

What's SSF? (I hate acronyms ... Surround Sound Feedback I assume, but B2S shouldn't be needed for that?)

Can't B2S server still run without a backglass?  I've noticed DOF working when I haven't had a backglass running.  I just checked to make sure.  I have Banzai Run on my cab, no backglass, and the table has full DOF.

You can run b2s without backglass, it just don't display anything, but you can't have dof without b2s as dof is a plugin of b2s

I think it has been mentioned before. I used the reading POV settings from a file named the same as table feature today, and I noticed that Y scale for some odd reason is wrong. It is a locked table so I had to write down the values I needed. When loading everything was correct except for the Y scale that needed a few more values added. In my case, I just added 0,10 to the scale I found to be ok. ( 1,22 -> 1,32 ) Don't think I ended up on exact the value I had but my "problem" of seeing the metal rails was gone so I was ok with it.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

I can assure none of use want to design like in the b2s editor...LOL     I wish someone would just take over the B2S project and continue to develop it, fix it, add what it needs... right now its pushed way beyond its limits..... IMO

The nail really sounds like something we could have..

So it's then just about being able to place a plain "cylinder"? Does it need anything else in addition?

LOL...LOL   :otvclap:  :love39:  :yahoo:   LOL...LOL...LOL

I'm still wanting to play all these tables that these special requests are for.... <waiting with baited breath>   :lazy:

maybe try here
http://pinballnirvana.com

Your playing the things should have nothing to do with it. I showed you the table concept I wanted a nail for so FUCK OFF. and QUIT FUCKING SHIT POSTING EVERY POST I MAKE.

come on fella, all I was saying is you must have dozens of tables your holding back with all these special feature requests... so touchy

What feature requests are you talking about? And what is the least bit special about a nail?

I don't think this, or any other request I've made would have any adverse effect on your or anyone elses' work with the program. You are just trolling me and it's time to stop.

I just want to let you know that with the next update you will get a units conversion feature in the status bar. You can select two control points and the status bar displays the distance of x,y and z in the unit you defined in the editor options dialog.
I will also add conversion informations of the other values for each element like wall/ramp heights flipper length and such stuff.

Not necessary.  VPX proper doesn't even really directly "support" B2S Server or even VPM in the first place, they're just things activated by a VP table's script.

As for making DOF work if VPX were able to render the backglass view on its own, B2S can continue to be used as a VPM intermediary plugin host.   Turn off error reporting and a .directb2s file isn't even necessary, but DOF still works.    In fact, the B2SBackglassServer host DLL is already decoupled from the actual backglass rendering in EXE mode.   (The EXE does this, the DLL just manages communication in that case).

I also agree with rothbauerw.   I don't think we really need big things from the VP editor - we just need a camera to render the backglass portion of what we're already able to create in FSS view.   I've seen a collection of very very impressive FSS stuff.

Hey all getting the same crash issue as Kiwi across multiple tables. The latest was last night (note the date is not US format).

I am on Win 10 version 1709.

Looks like 3330 has come out in the interim, will see if this has been resolved.

I am having a weird issue, I believe since 10.5. I can no longer properly quit a table from within 10.5 and go back to VPX. Once I quit (double Q press), VPX is no longer responsive, I cannot alt-tab to it or click on it, go back to the properties or script etc. I then have to force-quit it in the task manager. This makes the camera mode impossible to use, as I lose the settings afterwards. Just have to remember them then go back to the script and put them in manually.

This happened to me last night on 10.4. Are you using Windows 7? So many crazy system updates lately. Wondering if it’s Win 7 related (?)

Do you mean Win7 updates Ben ? I'm on 10.4 still haven't updated Win7 since July 2017. No problems. Should add though. On the old editing computer I update everything to the latest all the time. Was just about to go for 10.5 on the cab. No issues on the old computer so this might be something else.

No, Windows 10, and there have been no updates to my system, as I've blocked/delayed those (1709 screws up 7.1 sound). This could have happened with one of the late 10.4 build, but I'm not sure, I think 10.5. Happens every time, I can no longer quit a table from within VPX and keep control. Nothing else (besides vpinmame) was updated in my cab, I'm careful about keeping a setup that works.

Would it be possible to add the "beta_rev" in the changelog text file (after "VP 10.5.0 Changelog") ?
