I'm surprised Ben Heck isn't into Visual Pinball, he could do a cabinet build on his show it would be amazing

I have an alternate BG if anyone is interested. It's almost the same as the one posted, but it has real people on it. Got it from a charity auction at the Chicago pinball show, I've never seen another like it.

If anyone is interested let me know and I'll take some photos of it.

Fully invested in this now, got the ok from Shoopity and some higher res plastics from him, put all the primitive ramps on the table from his build but I'd like to model them a bit nicer if I get the chance. I really like the way everything looks in VP10 here, it's a beautiful table to show off VP10 features!

Here is that table with just the lower playfield GI, on and off, and the ghost lit using VP10 lighting as well

He did texture swaps on the VP9 version but since you can light it like this in VP10, AND change the rgb value of the lights, this might be the best option! I'm excited for this build and can't wait to get it playing and sent off to shoopity

Tomorrow I'll work on the apron....more posts and the rubbers probably.

Just to make sure I've got everything up to date, I re-uploaded my most recent tables.  See the first post.

As stated in the first post, I'm no longer maintaining the non DMD version.  After seeing angrim's amazing video, not having a DMD just barely works for this table.  I may at some point do some simple score text box and maybe a still graphic or something to indicate a mode, if there's enough interest.

So you've got a full, 100+ meg table, download that if you've never downloaded the table.  Then you've got a version without any sound since the sound alone takes up 80+ megs; you can then either export the sounds from a previous version (all the sounds have always been there) and import them into the new table, or just download the sounds pack.

There's also a link to the music and UltraDMD gifs that are the same.

Frenetic, how is that ghost lighting done in VPX?  Will it rotate with the ghost (so his unlit/less lit arms remain so as he turns)?  Even if it doesn't, it still might be good, it would be easier to do some flashing/fading stuff that I just don't want to bake every image for in VP9.

That alpha-ed plastic in the ghost hit area looks great, I'm gonna definitely want some of these graphics to put into the VP9 version.

If you want the adobe illustrator files I based my ramps stuff off of, I'll gladly send 'em.  Although, it looks like he's posted a bunch of stuff on his website (stl files for 3D printed stuff, so if you want the original ghost, it's probably in there, and some other photoshop stuff).  So you might want to check what he's grouped together (might be easier than me having to sift through 133+ GB of stuff he sent me (which includes Lost and Road House assets, making of videos, unedited dialog, etc.)

Shoopity, it's "inside" the ghost. I set up 2 lights, one at the base and one about 100 units up his body, slightly smaller. I set the transmit function on those lights to 1 so instead of being a disc, they're more like "orbs" and light up his body pretty well. I'll set up the desktop orientation this evening and I'll also send you a link to this WIP

I'll take a look around his files and see what I can use

The ramps you made look great, but they just need a little more substance, I think. The shadows and everything on them look fantastic already

In the interest of keeping the polys down, they're just flat plains, including the railings.

Indeed, they looked funny when I imported them without textures....

If you do static rendering they should have no impact on performance if you increase the poly count. In this case, since there is no transparency on the texture, they will be rendered statically

Well, if you actually model the banisters, then yeah there won't be any transparency.  As it is currently, it's just a plain  with a texture that does use transparencies.  I can send you the .blend file I used to make it, if you want.

Now imagine, the bigger light is at the bottom/base of the ghost, and the smaller light is about halfway up the ghost

desktop view of it, did some more work tonight

still no script converted over, hopefully i'll do that this weekend after i get most of the playfield placed

grabbed everything from ben heck's website as well, found a few more art files in there I can use

I'm also going to add in the rgb side wall lighting somehow, probably would make desktop view a little more exciting
