UPDATE

1.1.1 Updated 26.12.2018
- New Balrog by fuzzel. Now 100% like the real one.

Thanks fuzzel for the Balrog! :)

Our Balrog friend looks amazing!!  This table really is something now to play as it was one of the first to get me back into idolizing the hobby.  I did notice that on the real pintable Balrog lights up and animates when you bump him.  Is there a way this can be incorporated?  He doesn't do anything when you have to bump him in the lane sequence, but the DMD does say 'Balrog Hit.'

Also, here is a bit more detailed Playfield.  I've always thought the PF on this table was a bit washed out.  To each his own, but I thought i'd share!

Interesting.  This is just my personal opinion but the playfield on the right is sharper but there is also too much edge enhancement, some halo'ing around some of the fonts/objects and some loss of detail as a result (see Strider's chainmail shoulder armour).

A cleaner 4K+ playfield would be nice and I do think there are some cool things on this new playfield but IMHO I would hope it's available as an optional replacement and not as the only choice.  It is really good for you to share, this is just my personal opinion on this particular playfield, I'm not certain everyone would think it's an upgrade but for sure some would feel the increased sharpness is a bonus and worth it.

Agreed. Too much edge enhancement bugs my eyes out. Hopefully someday we can get a good scan.

Whenever the dmd says shoot the blinking lights none of the lights appear to be blinking, just on.  Is this only me or have others noticed this?  It's been like this a long time I just decided to finally ask.

Thanks for the fantastic table!!

I still cant se the flashing lights in version 1.12. Can I change something in the code to get it working?

I don't think so. Have you tried another version? There are a lot of LOTR VP9 tables, see if the lights work fine in another version.

I guess you mean to make the DMD "solid", then simply select the flash object, and in its propoerties change the "Modulate (0..1)" fro 0,9 to 1. The the DMD will be solid, and not semi-transparent.

I have tried several different versions of this table both with VPX and VP9 and the lights are NOT blinking in any of them when the DMD says so. But the lamps are blinking when the table is in show mode before starting a game.

I guess it is the lights marked in this picture that should be blinking?

I can try to make the lights like leds, with almost no fading at all and we'll see if they blink or not, maybe the blinking is too fast for the current lights. I can do that next week since I'm not home this week.

If its not to much work for you that would be awesome. I like the game but its hard to play when you dont know what to hit.

I have just taken a look at the table and my latest version already has the lights with a very fast fading. If those lights doesn't blink in my latest version then there is no hope.

I have a different issue which probably has a simple fix. i have a few tables that are working great in my cab, but when this table loads it will crash VPX.

The table fully loads (i can see it) a few lights dance around and then the table crashes.

I will be honest. I am a newb, so any direction would be great.

for some reason every time I add a coin it fires a knocker solenoid, how do I change this? I am  sure it has something to do with the DOF settings, but do not know how to change

thx

No, it isn't the DOF. Well, kind of - you go into the machine settings - Standard setting #46 and change it to be "knocker".
