I have some problems whit this table, the background music plays trough my in cab speakers and the sub is moving the ball around!

The pop bumper sound is coming from my back speakers and the flipper sound from in cab speakers i cant figure this out.

How do i change so only the mechanical sounds play trough the in cab speakers and music and call outs through back speakers?

Scoreboard overflow :-)

Almost kill them all the second time around - then this error.

diablo_scoreboard_overflow_t.png

If the error means what I believe it does - no more room for digits, then the scores given is way to high. I was only on my second ball in a two player game.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

It's the first time I'm trying to play a table using UltraDMD and I sure missed something (I use VPinballX 10.2.1.0 and VPinMAME 2.8)

I copied the Diablo.UltraDMD folder in the same folder than the table and I got this error message

Can someone help me, I'd like to play this fantastic table ! :)

You need to register the UltraDMD. Usually it is enough to run a CMD window and change to the directory were you have the UltraDMD.exe, and type UltraDMD.EXE /i and press enter. If this doesn't work can you do what it is explained here:

http://www.vpforums....=17#entry326068

But sometimes the easiest way is to download the UltraDMD MSI file from the authors web site :) and installi in the same folder you have it now

Now you just need to turn that ultradmd to full color mode to get the magic.

This table is really fantastic, it reminds me the FP table "Dark Quest"

Is there a list of tables using UltraDMD ?

Arngrim and jp were taking through this I believe but I'm not sure what the progress on that is.

"Me too"   Great table, lots of fun.    I also had the score overflow, same line 1939.    As the auto-plunger wasn't firing, I was able to keep the balls there and "cheat" by releasing when I wanted.  As a result I got through all 5 baddies, and was on Diablo the second time when it crashed.   I want to say the last time I saw the score before it crashed it was 1.8 billion  but maybe it was only 800 million something.   in any event maybe this means the variable is only defined to hold 2048.  Or maybe 1024 if it was only 800M...  and that's why it crashes?   If I was only at 800M then maybe it's the number of digits the UDMD can hold, when I hit a billion it crashes.  shrug, unknown.   Anyway, great work, looking forward to some DOF on it.  I'd be happy to help test on this full DOF rig if need.  And FWIW the high score entry works fine.  It does start blank, I can flipper to choose letters.  It's a 60hz monitor running the DMD.

(edit, fixed the factors of 10 errors.   million, billion,...   meh)

For all of you waiting for the DOF commands: arngrim has updated the script!, It is in the revision 1.0.3! :)

1.0.3 does not contain any other fixes.

The auto plunger is something I have tried to fix in all the original tables I made. It kind of works most of the times, but sometimes it gets turned off and then you can cheat :)

The overflow is a limit of the UltraDMD (maybe it is my code that it is wrong, but I don't think so). I do not want to reduce the scores, but I'll take a look and I'll see if I find a solution.

UltraDMD overflows at about 2 billions.

I added manually 1.000.000.000 and it was ok

Then I added another 1.000.000.000 and it was also ok

I added a third one and it crashed.

So I added the 2 billions and I added 100.000.000 and it was ok

I added another 100.000.000 and it crashed.

So it looks like UltraDMD can display up to 2.200.000.000, and that's a big number! :)

I still remember when the tables I played could score up to 999 and you got a special 100.000 light when you scored over 999 :)

The table and the variables work ok. So it is not the variables/arrays in the script that cannot hold the numbers.

Well, if you get the overflow, then either you have cheated :) or you are too good at pinball :D

Thanks JP ;)

It took me time to dof because i couldn't figure out how to make a good tutorial to dof em tables, so i compromised to put the dof mapping on top of the script, so you can see what the ids are for, and you can see the respective script modifications and configtool toy mappings, hope it clarifies a bit, each table is different, and from different authors as well, it is difficult to say there is a generic way to dof a table

i have updated a bit also the paragraph in my signature how to use controller.vbs for EM and Original tables

Thank you very much Arngrim and JP.

@arngrim : before reading the script, I'm happy to hear that it contains some more insight to the tech everyone is running to you for. Would love to understand a bit more around it.

@JP, I'm not that good of a player, and I definitely didn't cheat - so, it must be you being too kind once again ;)

Downloading now and updating DOF config files !

The DOF exquisitely adds to this already awesome table.  Love the shaker motor letting you know when the magnets are on, makes them even MORE scary.  Not sure I've played a game that blinks the shaker on slings, and I like it.  Popping and clacking and shaking and FWIW no auto-plunger failures yet.   So immersive.  Simply brilliant!

attachicon.gifUltraDMD_overflow.PNG

I would disagree that getting the score to overflow requires cheating. The jackpots and combo awards are at 1 million plus 10% of your current score. Seven multiball jackpots or ramp combos is enough to nearly double your score. This also means that going from 1 billion points to 2 billion requires the same amount of shots as going from 50 million to 100 million.

The UltraDMD issue is that the DisplayScoreboard function assumes the score can fit into a 32-bit integer, which has a maximum value of 2^31 - 1 = 2,147,483,647.
