I started VirtuaPin to help members of the community get the best possible product at the best possible price.

... and you use vpforums to promote your products while censoring information about things which might have bad influence on your profit.

While on one side you help the development of VP by giving it a platform, you also block it by censoring based on your personal interests.

It is just not as open as it should be.

That's not censorship. That's refusing to promoting a site that has beliefs diametrically opposed to our own.

Censorship would be editing posts after being posted. I have removed questionable content from time to time, but, as you can see by Shadow's recent posts, I don't censor.

As long as a site hosts content in violation with the wishes of Stern, our VIPs, and/or our policies, it will be filtered, sorry.

Sounds like a lot of words to describe censorship to me....

Or, for the analogical: A potato by any other name is still a [potato reference removed]

Blah, blah, blah. Call it what you like. We're not going to promote sites that knowingly and intentionally host content that violates Stern's wishes. Period.

Get over it. It's not going to change.

If you look at the Authors names of the tables on that other site, you will see that alot of them are made by the VIP's from this site.

I would guess thats why they are denying a Stern deal ever took place. And probably why they are pushing back in this very topic.

So unless you let them put them tables here, or let them talk about emulating a Newer Stern Table, they believe you are censoring them?

Heres another anology.

Say this is a bank. And the bank workers started discussing how to rob the bank. You feel that the robbing of the bank info should be told to everybody who comes through the door?

YOU CANT TALK ABOUT ROBBING A BANK, WHILE YOU ARE IN THE BANK, AND THEN GET MAD BECAUSE THE BANK DOESNT WANT YOU TO TALK ABOUT THE ROBBERY.

Have a great day!

Convincing Noah to change his view on this topic is like getting Donald Trump to change his mind on building a wall between Mexico and the US.

Not "our own" - "YOUR OWN" !  What makes you believe your opinion is everybody's or even the majorities opinion ?

I think most would prefer to get ALL information and decide for themselves.

Lol. It's been the accepted agreement by the community for years. Just because you don't understand how it got to this point doesn't make it solely mine. Many people were involved in the policy making that has kept this community together and thriving.

For the love of Gawd, give it a rest already.

Nah I don't feel censored. Seriously look at the stuff I've said in this thread and others. A thinner skinned man would have deleted the posts and banned me long ago. I respect the rules of this site and respect that Noah has allowed me and others to speak our opinions do openly. He has the right to censor links to sites that don't follow the same rules as his. I like your analogy but it's more like we are talking about a bank robbery that took place at another bank while we're in a bank. Not how to do it...

There is a big difference between not promoting a site and censoring every mention of said site, which is what you are doing.  There is a lot of good useful items over on some of those sites that have nothing to do with anything Stern.  A whole boatload of b2s' come to mind, but when someone here is looking for a b2s for a table here that doesnt' have a b2s here we can't say go to vpuniverse.com they have a really nice one there, we have to go around the things, and tell people to google it or try the "other site" or spell it out so your auto-censorship doesn't catch the v=p-u

I wouldn't direct anyone to the b2s over there, myself, whether or not they hosted unauthorized content.

First, and foremost, the site was born on the premise of lies about me and for the sole intent of 'going to war with VPF'. Oh, and to make Dazz money, as he expressed a YEAR before it was even a thought.

Secondly, the webmaster was banned from here for being grossly disrespectful to Randy, you know, the guy that made this all possible?

And finally, the b2s themselves are rips of Flying Dutchman's UVP work. How do I know? I can review download logs and see that every b2s over there was released within 48 hours of that member downloading the corresponding UVP. There's so much bullshit on that 'other' site that I, and others, find offensive, I would filter it regardless.

If you want to refer people to that site, have at it, but you won't be using our resources to do it.

Thank you.

Dammit, you should have warned me ahead of time, it's like that fight club thing all over again.

Look, I wasn't around when all that went down, or if I was I didn't see any of it, but I'm sure there is a whole bunch of other people like me that don't know about, and frankly don't care about, this history, we just want to play vp or fp or whatever.  I'm not saying you are wrong in your initial assessments, but there are b2s' over there that exist in no form what-so-ever here, uvp or otherwise for tables that do exist here, and then there is DOF that is talked about here a lot that you pretty much have to go there to use.

I was going to try an Apples and Oranges analogy but I refrained, LOL

I never said "they wanted to post opposed content here on VPF???"

I said "I would guess thats why they are denying a Stern deal ever took place. And probably why they are pushing back in this very topic. So unless you let them put them tables here, or let them talk about emulating a Newer Stern Table, they believe you are censoring them?"
