thank you so much for this verison Dozer! It's a true gem and one of my favorites! :D

Do you (or anyone else) get to run this beauty with the VPX option 'Enable Ambient Occlusion"

It's reallty lifting the graphics to a whole new level, but sadly the ball seems too lose its "flow".

An alternative way might be sweertFX, but that maybe result in the same inpact on playability.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hey gStAv, yeah AO is expensive in VP it seems.  On my GTX980 there is no problem as it only drops a frame or two but on the cabinet, although playable I notice what you mean.  I use SweetFX on the cabinet with it and it runs fine. I would give it a shot if you have time.

Also you might consider cranking up the playfield scale in the ball reflections UI to 10 to lighten up the too dark playfield reflections on the ball..

I tried 2 and 5 I think but didn't notice much difference. Could be me though, eyes are getting old :). You all should try this and see if you can get a result that looks good for you. I'm not too fussed personally and will leave it at the default for my own version. Thanks Toxie.

if you play in cab mode, you will barely notice it. but in desktop mode, for example if the ball is lifted by the ringmaster it makes a huge difference.

i found out that my sounds for ball collision and ball rolling are way to quiet (that's why i though it would not work)... slingshots and flippers are super loud ... is something wrong with my sound ? or do i have to adjust the volume of the differnet sound samples to my likeing ?

another thing i can not figure out: i use digital nudging (ctrl L und R) and i noticed the ball is shaking but no sound is played and the ringmaster does not shake .... anyone else experiencingt this ? i am on 2266 . .. btw: love this table :D thank you !

An option to be able to put the DMD in the background would be nice... :)

It's been mentioned before that it's not possible. You can move it in the background section and resize it. If you don't want to use the native vpx dmd, just delete it and set Hidden and Rol(if on cab don't touch it) in the script to 0.

very nice table , Technological showcase of the possibilities of the software ; but physics not realist ; Too elastic ball , "as Future Pinball" first generation. 2266

How to put the dmd in the background ?

cirqus2_t.jpg
Can you to convert also MM and AFM ?

I will get straight onto this for you. The physics will be Future Pinball second generation.

Here is CV version 5

After taking a look at the HDR image Hauntfreaks used and as he mentioned in the other thread, there were many things about the ramps that looked better to me as well.

There were some other things I didn't like about it though so I went about modifying the wire form ramps to mimic the alternative HDR file while keeping the original milky way map.

Anyway, the result of all of this is that I'm pretty happy with the ramp look now and included is a new variable in the script for ramp_flash which clumsily attempts to emulate yellow light from one of the flashers hitting the wire forms just using a simple image swap.  I don't mind it though and if you don't like it just set it to 0 in the script.

Fixed in this version.

Ringmaster no longer shows the vertical reflection on his face.

Flipper strength increased a bit to make the table a bit more lively.

Added a 3D jackpot collar which was a waste of time really as you can only see it move for a couple of seconds due to it's position in Z space. :)

Turned the scratches logo back on for the ball now that the Menagerie ball no longer spins infinitely.

Tweaked a few other lights.

Changed a couple of friction settings.

IMPORTANT INFO

As some people have noticed, Z scale can break the kickers from the subway and also on the wire form ramp locks.

Change Feature adjustment 46 in the rom to AUTO EDDY BOARDS = NO

Also change Feature Adjustment 47 in the rom to Diverter Check M/B = Paranoid.

Maybe include CV nvram settings file with the rar?

I'm off to take a break over summer folks. I have a bit of scripting to do for a soon to be released table so will be dropping in from time to time until that is done and will check this thread.

Hope you're enjoying CV. See you in the New Year.

ok there are no nudge sounds on this tabel . that's why i don't hear anything when nudging.

i added some sounds according to the script - now working .. still ...the menageryball slightly reacts to nuding - the ringmaster does not... is the ringmaster wobbling for you all ?

btw i hardly can read the scripts but i found this: starting at lin 616

Sub LeftNudgeTimer_Timer()
    LeftNudgeEffect = LeftNudgeEffect-1
    If LeftNudgeEffect = 0 then LeftNudgeTimer.Enabled = 0
End Sub

Sub RightNudgeTimer_Timer()
    RightNudgeEffect = RightNudgeEffect-1
    If RightNudgeEffect = 0 then RightNudgeTimer.Enabled = 0
End Sub

Sub NudgeTimer_Timer()
    NudgeEffect = NudgeEffect-1
    If NudgeEffect = 0 then NudgeTimer.Enabled = 0
End Sub

i changed Enabe = 1 for left and right nudge and the ringmaster wobbles again when nudging

can anyone who actually does understand the script confirm if this is right ?

thx mike

Man, that is insulting and totally untrue. If I had the ability and skills to build any table let alone one like this, I would be totally wound up to hear something like that. People should really think twice about what they say, as these kinds of posts are appearing once to often. Had to say it, now back to enjoying the table :).
