Update on pc version Peter on their Facebook page:
"Special News about the PC version of Pinball Arcade: While we still hope to be greenlit by Steam and use them as our distribution portal, we are creating a special build for the $500+ kickstarter backers that will allow them to play a PC build containing Star Trek, Twilight Zone, and the four pack of launch tables. Everyone that selected the PC version as a backer reward of either Star Trek or Twilight Zone will get the opportunity to play the PC version of the table you backed very soon. We’ll be sending out emails to download these builds via email in January.
Happy New Year, everyone!"
It's not perfect but its a start. For those not aware, the contracts they have signed with the ip owners imposes DRM on the DLC tables. That is why they are trying to get on Steam Greenlight. Why not regular Steam? Apparently, they were refused, I suspect for the same reasons as the Xbox live issues: no publisher since the one they had went bankkrupt. Personal opinion: I think they would prefer steam greenlight over steam with publisher since that is one less hand in the money jar.
I am not expecting cab support out of this build but I do hope the TZ table I supported via kickstarter will at least have portrait support so I can still play it on the cab.

I'm pretty sure they'll support what you need in the end for cabs, they know how it all works.

Only 15 months late! Although who knows how much longer from here til we see a release. & for cab users who knows how long until they might get to cab support, if ever. I'd be surprised if it had good cab support on the first release. But this is a start, I guess.

I heard pin-cab support was something they were looking into adding but I'm not sure it will be available on release day 1.

I somehow fail to believe that some people won't buy the PC version if they don't have cab support. Cab users getting jaded? Because if they do this right, this still could be the best recreations our PC's have ever seen, so I have a hard time believing a pinhead would turn this down just because of no FS view. I have a feeling even if they do have a FS view that it might be more of a dumb "top-down" view without the stuff people are used to on VP, such as layback & the tables being pre-distorted in a certain way.
So I do think they will support FS, but have a feeling it might not be exactly what people are hoping for. I hope I'm wrong though.
