No problem, it's just a request.
I tried to make a hexagon, and a cylinder came out of it.
I can do it with a wall, with blender, etc....

Thanks

I messed up with the DOF question. How can I fix it?

I saw the Pinmame start even without enabling the own timer (PinMameTimer).

https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=25186&page=3#entry411883
In this case, when the timer is always enabled, the insert lights don't work properly.

is this due to fastflips changes?

I installed the previous core from vpvbs3.55, and the table again needs to enable the PinMameTimer.

For running Demolition Man I went a long way in time, I installed the core from vpvbs3.43.

I think maybe this has been discussed before, but not sure... anyway... is it possible to do a floating score display that could be positioned over the apron?  This would be very nice for people wanting to do a single screen vertical display.  Just curious.

Yup, possible: https://vpinball.com...-williams-1987/

I'm sure you guys don't remember this, but I mentioned some problems I was having with weird, white artifacts on my ball images.  It turns out it is related to the "overwrite ball image" option in the preferences.

More discussion here:  https://www.vpforums...672#entry410856

I tried to reproduce the white artifacts you mentioned but I'm not sure if I really did it the right way. Can you send me the images and settings you used and a screenshot how the ball looks like? If you use a decal the alpha value of the decal image is used to blend onto the ball (e.g. the scratches on the metal ball) in logo mode however the decal image is additively blended. And that could cause the artifacts.

@Fuzzel: Did you get anywhere on this? It's still driving me nuts everytime i try to take a look at that bug..

nope. But it's more feature than a bug. If you use an image with alpha values as a decal image you will get the white splotches. I tried several images and options but everything works as expected for me. Maybe I did something wrong?

Oh cool... so is it something that has to be coded into each individual table, or can it someday be a feature of VP?

You could just use that code in the script there (with permission)?!

Stuff like that makes sense to make it via script as it should be configurable IMHO.

With a DMD it's easier, as DMDs roughly all look the same.

Just try to use the exact same ball image once in the video preferences, and once in the table options and then you get a different result.

Ah only the ball image and no decal image that was my mistake ;) Ok found the bug and fixed it. It will come with 10.6 :)

It would be great if there was a way for end users to add, through VP, an optional script snippet to all tables... for instance this, or add a ball shadow, etc...

Absolutely, but especially for scores the options/looks are so diverse that it's not really possible.

@Fuzzel: How could that fix fix it?? I still don't get it.. But thanks for fixing!! :)

EDIT: finally understood it.. the issue is that RegQueryValueEx does not touch the string at all if it is a null string in the registry..  :/

Hi, I have a problem with my table Motörhead and VPX rev. 3490

If I play my table, then play another one, and then play my table again, VPX crashes

It seems it can't open Light Displays (Segmented Displays / LEDS)

Windows 10 64 bits  / Intel core i7-6700 CPU / 8.00 Go memory / Geforce GTX 960

Here is the crash report

It's always best to close the editor after each game and restarted just like a front end...

Some games will work fine without closing and others will not

Vpinmame caused the crash not VPX itself.
It's simple to identify if it's a VPX crash or some dll. If the first lines of the call stack point to vpinballx.exe it's a VPX issue that causes the crash ;)

Thanks, Fuzzel, I was using the 64 bits version, and now it seems to work fine using the 32 bits one :hmm:

From the log it's also the 32bit version though.. :)

I need more details to tackle this: Does Motörhead use a ROM for the gameplay (i.e. launching VPM)? Or is it all script-only based?

And which other table/ROM did you launch inbetween?

Not a big deal, the lights are not included in the undo history.
