Table names and the used db2s files where you get that behaviour.

what is your system spec Clark? I run 3 monitors and fps dont change if i have db2s or not.. Never seen a db2s slow fps of a table.. tho i have seen the dmd slow fps.. My system works the best with Playfield and backglass on my main 660 2g card and run dmd on a 610 2g card... No problems with any slow downs.

Guys i had some serious slowdown issues yesterday testing "Big Bang Bar" and "Spiderman", probably the worst i've seen.
Interestingly, the Monster Bash PC Killer Edn runs perfectly smooth.
Setup is a GTX460 for palyfield and a 9800GT for Backglass running XPin DMD using the unofficial vpinmame.dll (unity / sam)
PC Setup is an i5, win7 64bit, 4gb RAM.
Is anyone else having these issues?

No, no. You misunderstood. It seems that an ANIMATED dB2S can slow down PHYSICS, not the fps themselves. So using a static dB2S with lights only COULD result in other physical behavior then when using an animated one. That's my experience so far. At least with the new DX9 test version and vsync turned off. But maybe it behaves in another way when using a second graphics card?
Table names and the used db2s files where you get that behaviour.
AFM beta4 with animated dB2S
Roadshow Mod 1.1 with animated dB2S
maybe others - I have to test this more detailed.
Changing the dB2S to non-animated ones removed the weird behavior.
My sys specs are i5 2500k (3.4 GHz), 4 GB RAM, 660GTX 2GB, Win7 x64.

Following on from ClarkKent.
I spent yesterday afternoon playing with NVIDIA settings on various tables to try and get the smoothest movement . This really was an empirical process, but with certain settings, I was getting flickering and what appeared to different behaviours that could, I guess relate to the physics (most of my tables have animated B2S). Turning off V-Sync really helped, and I had to crank down some of the settings compared to those I have for 9.2.1 (930).
Taking into consideration what ClarkKent was saying, I do have two graphics cards, however the table and backglass screens are both plugged into the primary card, with the DMD into the secondary.
If I get time tonight I will run the same table with/without backglass to see what happens.

The only way graphics settings can influence the physics is indirectly, by changing the framerate. For instance, Vsync will limit the framerate to 60fps, and this does have a known effect on the physics in the current code.
The only way I know of to induce flickering by the graphics settings is to force AA on. Did you find any other problems?

OK. But how can it explained that the physics differ when using the animated backglass? I can reproducable see the differences in my Roadshow table when using the animated backglass or turning backglass off?

Maybe it would be a good idea to create a test version of Roadshow that would have scripted ball launches/shots to specific kickers like with the flipper accuracy test table? I guess that would be the only way to really document the difference between different setups.
I haven't looked into the flipper test table script but I guess similar solution could be scripted for VPM table as well(?)

I guess the framerate is different with the backglass on/off?

In amongst all the tech talk, Has a solution to this been found?

No, sorry. That table uses the engine in a highly unusual way and relies on pixel-perfect placement of images. I'm not even sure if the error is in the DX9 version or if the table relied on some bug in the DX7 version. In any case it would be a LOT of work to debug and I can't really justify that just for a single table while issues which affect multiple tables are still open.

I'm sure this will be fixed when we do not have to play in windowed mode, table was designed for 1080
Use windowed fullscreen mode. Assuming that your desktop is 1920x1080, then that will be your game resolution.

I Tried Monster Bash(Williams) (1998) (uw randr) (2.1) (LP) (FS) with and without backglass. With, resulted in some microstutter, without was much smoother. Don't know why.
As for the lines on T2 chrome (T2_CE_Tipoto_1.07_FS). I had them prior to changing my NVIDIA settings as here: https://www.youtube....h?v=pCk3E7hUSDU under v9.2.1xxx. Under DX9 V7 I have a few back again.
