Had the DMD quit working on ball 2 of "The Getaway".
However if I remember correctly this table has known problems with sound stopping and DMD stopping at random.
Once I rebooted the table it worked perfect for all 3 balls.

if the dmd does work when u first start up, id say its probably some thing in the emulation that has gone wrong and not the pinDMD integration.

thanks Slydog43, me and snots will have a look at those games and see what GEN they are using, if there is more then a few tables using that GEN ill support it smile.gif

Hello,

I'm reviewing all my tables, and I've got a probllem with Class of 1812.

I want to disable the pindmd with showpindmd

'.Settings.Value("dmd_red") = 7
'.Settings.Value("dmd_green") = 194
'.Settings.Value("dmd_blue") = 78
.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("rol")=0
.HandleKeyboard = 0
.ShowTitle = 0
.ShowDMDOnly = 1
.ShowFrame = 0
.HandleMechanics = 0
.DIP(0) = &H00
.Hidden = 1
.ShowPinDMD=0

But the method is not recognized, I use UVP.

I have checked in the topic but couldn't find an appropriate answer.

I'm using the latest dll and firmware.

Are we still expecting a solution from source code of UVP? or?

snots had this error as well, i think the problem is the UVP server does not know what that command is and we have no control over that code, so as far as im aware there is nothing we can do sad.gif

B2S is the way to go of course, but most of the tables are still UVP only wink.gif

I didn't see a conclusion about this issue, that's why I asked, it has nothing to do with patience.

Ok let's see later then, we can't thank you enough Russdx and Snotz for your devotion wink.gif

Yea we talked about this earlier. At this point it's a waiting game smile.gif, however the easy fix is to rebreak the DMD code for those games that have scoring on BG (if we can't eventually get a change in UVP).

B2S and UVP both have their benefits. Many tables already have a nice UVP backglass with scoring for your cab.
Other tables like EMs shine with B2S and the amazing scorereels and animated backglass.

Why all of a sudden are you ready to ditch UVP? The new DMD display is great for DMDs, but for SS games without a DMD, why not just use UVP or B2S?
The scores are integrated in the backglass the same as B2S, why would you want to move them onto the DMD when they are originally on the backglass?

UVP does not support the ShowPinDMD command. If you are using UVP, unfortunately, you have to remove that command (which leaves the pinDMD on).

Hmm, thanks for the info. If the pinDMD is on, does that mean it will display scores?

Can you just blank the pinLED it if the the pinDMD is "on"? That way UVP can co-exist with this new technology!

hmm..or have the pindmd display the logo for segmented games so it's doing 'something' smile.gif
here is a thought - find a command that works for UVP - but doesn't do much of anything 'important' or noticeable, and then have that same command for your pindmd to act upon to do something else - basically change whatever command UVP does understand and use that for the showpindmd command your dll utilizes.

like controller.doublesize or controller.compact might work...

Or we can add a registry entry. Would scripting be better, or registry be better? The downfall to registry is that you would need to run the game one time before you can change the registry setting for that game.

When you say registry it is on rom level?

If yes, then I personally prefer that way, because if there's an update on a table, we don't need to change the script again.

I use UVP successfully on well over 150 tables and wouldn't want to give it up. If there is a way to support UVP then that would be perfect smile.gif

I reached out to the developer... I will let you know if I hear back...

And you can backup the registry or apply a change to multiple keys...

Part of what Hacker said makes me think someone is already working on a "fix" for this, but that's just a guess. This whole DMD thing is still new and only a handful of us have them at the moment. Eventually someone will get it sorted. Until then, I can deal with having scores on both the BG and the DMD biggrin.gif

I was also curious if there was just a firmware fix that could say something to the effect of "if UVP is called, then show logo"

In other news:
Right now, I'm kind of tinkering with how to get the PinDMD to call random text files so that when it loads it's not always the same logo.

i think snots is gonna go down the reg route to solve the uvp problem smile.gif

all the logo stuff is gonna be removed from the pinmame .dll and will moved to a separate exe that will take control of the pinDMD between games, it will support animation, and im sure we can add support for random txt files at some point smile.gif
