Thank you! So the flasher works pretty much the same way as the text box? you add it with insert, etc? Can you point me in the right direction please

 

 

Look at another table that has flasher DMD for instance the The Addams Family 3rdaxis VR version (with the room), flasher is basically a rectangular object you place anywhere you like and you can enable it to act like a DMD.

 

 

Thank you for the help. I got everything working perfectly now. It took me a while trying to figure out how to make the DMD move back and forth but then realized the flasher is on the main table so back and forth is up and down on the editor.

Just a heads up for people that have an Oculus Quest, Pinball FX2 VR works really well with my PinStubby and PinMicro.  I was in the process of retrofitting my "pinMicro" with a bluetooth X-Box 1 S controller and decided to try out the one I had already installed in it.  It worked!!!! couldn't believe it, plays perfectly.  Now its so easy to show pinball to non pinball people out in the wild.

 

I was really surprised by how good Pinball FX2 VR was on the Go - I can only imagine how much better it is on the Quest.

Almost all DMD tables are playable in VR. You just have to add a room (or a floor and a wall) to get rid of the darkness around the table. Some tables maybe need some fine tuning for a satisfying experience, but most tables should be fine.

I searched for different variences of Rom and put them all in the Rom & rom folders just to be sure.

The rom you need is taf_l7. Need to remain zipped and placed into your VPinMAME\Roms folder.

Yes, I have tried

The only difference is ROMs versus roms. I doubt it's case sensitive issue in Windows. But will try anything at this point.

by the way is that (a capital i) I7 or (lower case l) l7

It's a lower case L, but to be sure, you can copy the name from the tablescript.
And why do you have a romfolder under visual pinball?
The only romfolder has to be under VPinMAME.

For some reason when playing in non VR mode to test the table i'm editing the view got messed up to the point that it's difficult to fix. Is there a way to reset the view so that i'm facing the table again?

OK, I think I figured everything out well enough to completely change 3rdaxis's wonderful Addams Family VR room with any machine I want I also made a 'clean room' so that it's easy to simply open any table of choice and copy everything over to it. I even changed the cabinet decals.

It's addicting! 

I have a long background in programming and 3DS Max so it came to me quickly. I'm also a developer for IPACS Game Studios (Aerofly FS2) and a government CIO for 30 years.

 

It took a little bit but once I figured out how to import the materials and images, and learn the (tricky) editing tools it was pretty easy after that point. I did 4 tables already, even changed the posters and wallpaper on a few

 

Oh, and I had to read through your script to find all of the triggers and timers and move those over as well.

All I did was figure out how to change the table. The real king here is 3rdaxis. You can download his TAF VR if you would like. I may post a tutorial on how to change the table
