Fix: Set AT91jit to zero.
Have no idea what it is, but it works.
Thanks Toxie (and others) for the help.

This is exactly the evil issue that we tried to hunt down for quite some time.. As an example:
On my laptop i can pretty much 99% replicate the following:
a) reboot windows
b) start any whitestar II game from within VP (e.g. not via VPM setup.exe)
c) VP crashes
d) start the same whitestar II game again
e) works
f) quit VP, start any other wsII game
g) crash
h) start that other wsII again
i) works
j) start any of the two wsII games again
k) works
l) WTF!
On some machines, it does not happen at all. On some only when using some external DMD.

I just did some table recordings with GtxJoe's great pbxrecorder.
I haven't had a crash at all with either of these : Elvis, Avengers, Ripleys and Family Guy. But, for recording I need to turn external dmd off or it will crash 100% of the time.
Is there maybe any relationship between these symptoms I wonder.
From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Is this any table you use with external dmd (I assume using freezy's dmd extension)? You could use OBS Studio as a workaround to capture table footage, and set up the DmdDevice.ini to record the DMD seperately. When I asked about having trouble capturing the DMD with OBS Studio, Freezy mentioned his DMD works like a capture software itself, so maybe it has problems with GtxJoe's capture software as well.

Hmm. Thanks for the heads up Freelunch. I haven't thought about trying anything else than GtxJoe' pbxrecorder. I probably should try this out just to see what happens. I however don't use captured dmd for pinballx. I've use a custom made video that displays logo -> year -> manucaturer in a loop.

Update: oh. No, there are only a very few tables that crashes. Looking at that list you will notice that most require SAM support.

Thanks for updating one of my favourite tables JP. I have a problem where the ball disappears but the rolling sound continues when it hts the plunger thing (I think it's called a vari-target). The table starts searching for the lost ball but fails.
I seem to have resolved the problem by updating VPX from rev 364 to rev 366 Final.
Sorry for the false alarm and thanks again for a great table.

I still don't understand why it happened, anyway it works now
You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind.
A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination.
That's the signpost up ahead - your next stop, the Twilight Zone!
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man ...
a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity.
It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge.
This is the dimension of imagination.
Enter JP Salas
Retired Norwegian Spaniard and sometimes pinball maker and slightly bluish.
Normally a simple affair, but today JP passed through the door unseen
the door between worlds, into a dimension where logic is illogic and the inane becomes the rule of the day
and everything he knows has become false.
If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways
