I´ve got the same error message with VP 9.9.1:

"Atempeted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt".

VP 9.9.0 runs fine.

This one is a stretch but on other forums people talk about sidewinder mouse drivers conflicting with directx generating this error. Any chance you can remove/replace your mouse and/or drivers?

Just to be more specific, we can get the editor to open and load a table in it. But trying to play the table gives the exact error message that max37170 listed. VP 9.9.0 runs great so I don't see why 9.9.1 will not. I didn't use the full install, just the exe as I already had a full install.

Problem solved:

I´m now useing the VPinmame.dll 2.6beta with VPinball 9.9.1 - it works fine without error messages.

Thats really really weird. But maybe destruk used some strange compile flags for the cabinet version of pinmame here on the site that could have caused this.

Is there any difference in the beta version? If not I guess I will just use that as well until destruk can get the one on here fixed.

The new alpha/beta has all features from destruks version incorporated already (remember to enable cabinet mode in the default settings!), so there will be no new special cabinet version anymore in the future.

As for the real DMD: if you have a PinDMD2, then the new alpha/beta also already has these changes (and more cool stuff like better support for SEGA, AlG and Capcom!) incorporated. You just have to enable it in the default settings.

For PinDMD1 there is a separate build in the same thread.

Thanks for all the work put into this!!

Will this installer be updated to VP9.9.5?

The reason I am asking, is this installer associates vpt files with the program, while just installing new 9.9.5 standalone version, does not associate or start tables automatically when double clicked.

Is there a way to associate VP9.9.5 with VPT and have it run tables when tables are double clicked, to run with VP9.9.5?

I can associate it with VP9.9.5 but it doesn't start tables automatically like 9.9.1. It just brings up vp table editor.

Bah ... I rather have it start PM5 ;)

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

I am asking this question for a friend who asked me.

I have no problem running from a shortcut on desktop.

But I think he has cabinet, (not sure but I know he doesn't use front end to start tables, he just double clicks table.) and upgraded to VP9.9.5, but his tables aren't starting automatically with this upgrade. They pop up in the editor.

Is there any way around this? Or willl he have to wait for 9.9.5 to made into a full installer?

Is there anything he can do to get these tables to start automatically with VP9.9.5 when double clicked?

the simplest way is to rename the vp995 exe to the name of his old vp9 executable..

Thanks Toxie!!

I also wanted to know this info as I have always used my shortcuts on desktop to start tables with VP9.95.

Quick, easy and effective.

Thanks again for the help!!
