Changing to 16 bit got the hi rez table working for me too.

VERY VERY nice. my contribution, an ultra hi-res video preview for those of you running hyperpin in your cab.

Does the ball seem just a little 'floaty'? if i rolled gravity up to 1.66 will that jack everything up?

'Gravity Constant' was added by UltraPin in its development. I believe it represents the Gravitational Constant for this planet and as such is around 1.6674. Indeed all the released tables in the UltraPin used values around this figure. OTOH, table slopes varies with the age and type of pinball table. Early pinballs used as little as 3.0 and modern ones 6.5, though unscrupulous arcade operators might jack up the back legs to give more! I'd go for 1.667 with 6.5 slope for MB, but be prepared to adjust flippers etc to compensate.

VP Released Tables

Attack From Mars, Batman, Cirqus Voltaire (Fuseball), Corvette, Cue Ball Wizard, NBA Fastbreak, No Fear (Germax), Judge Dredd (aurian), JunkYard, Indiana Jones (Redux), Medieval Madness (macho), SafeCracker, Star Trek: The Next Generation (Destruk), Tales of the Arabian Nights (At Night), The Shadow, The Sopranos, The Simpsons Pinball Party, The Who's Tommy, Theatre of Magic (At Night).

Hey Ken, You think you'd be willing to help me add the ball collision engine to this one

I noticed today that the top blinking green light on the creature from the black lagoon thing doesn't look right when it's blinking. Only on the top light (Pond Scum). That might just be me though since I run an ATI card.

So much fun to play. Thanks again UW!

Scott... Amazing table...

Notice few things played for few hours today...
The high-res version runs perfectly on my system, though I have the fading GI lights disabled... GI enable... hard to play....Freezes a little be....

1) Flipppers: Ball bounce on top the flippers and go away on left and right exits.... sometimes.......Very hard to control the ball once it's bounced....

2) Creature from the Black Lagoon ...Hologram pic Blocked... FS version...

Anything else it's amazing and brilliant....

Thanks Scott

Man, I love the game, both 4:3 and FS versions! However I have a problem with both versions too!

In the middle of the first game usually, the game will be interrupted and shut down with "script line 455 out of area" or something like that.

does anyone know why that would happen? I mean, it plays fine for like 3 minutes or so, without any problems...

UW, this table is amazing. you did a GREAT job on it. THANK YOU for your hard work on this one. one of my favorites!

One question if i may for you or anyone else who can help: I've been playing it like crazy in vp9.07 with no problems at all. If i try to run the table from the Hyperpin front end, the screen goes black and no playfield. it just hangs. If i ctrl-alt-del and see what is running i have pinmame running and it says "game settings" when it is highlighted, VP9.07 and it says "preparing table". then i have of course Hyperpin and Hglass1 running as well.

It seems to me that pinmame normally says something else which leads me to believe it is asking me for, or waiting for some type of input from me although i can't see it. I do not get the rom or GI settings menu when i run it out of vp only, so not sure why i would get it running from hyperpin. But is that what it might be asking for i think. How can i un-black screen so i can see what it is its asking for or how can i fix it?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Pat

If you're going to run it through hyperpin you have to run it in vpinball and check the 'disable start menu' thing. Hyperpin gets stuck on that. Same thing happens if you load a table that you haven't loaded before - the standard pinmame disclaimer hangs it.

E, Thanks for your reply. I know where you are coming from but I need to clarify. I did indeed check the box to disable the menu and from that point on it doesn't show up anymore when running the table out of visual pinball. It doesn't matter how many times i play the table, i never see the start menu again. But something is hanging it from within hyperpin only, and i assumed it might be the menu from the way it acts but i don't know how it could be since i disabled it.I dunno. Whatever it is, I cant see it becuase of the black screen. and i can't seem to get it to appear to find out without closing everything (alt-f4 shortcut) and by then everything is closed. Also just to clarify, i've triple checked the naming in my XML and such. that isn't it either. i get different behavior when the name is wrong.

any other ideas?
thanks!
Pat

most likely, you are getting the line 461 or whatever it was error and that is hanging hyperpin. I'll have the update up soon. I never got this error in my testing, but it is an issue for some people.

I'll try to have the update up tomorrow night, friday at the latest. I think everything has been addressed, I may add some chrome lane triggers and the rivits in the pfwhere there are some open holes. i also set it up so if you think it is still not fast enough you can just change the global difficulty and it seems to increase the table slope and speed up the ball. with the flipper and physics adjustment i feel like the table is a little more challenging, it was rather easy how it was set up. I'm a horrible player and i managed to get a high score previously, now not quite so easy.

I appreciate all the input, especially the slope and flipper adjustments from UR.

I'm taking a week off after this one, it took a lot out of me, but i learned quite a bit with suck a complex table

One thing it could be is you are running on the limit of video ram, so that when you launch hyperpin and the backglass it tips it over the edge and gives a cannot create error which Hyperpin hides from you.
Try running with a lower res.
