I have all the sounds and music ready. Graphics should also be ready, although some have told me to get rid of the girls and add some other characters being killed, I'll think about it. So now starts the script part, and this is what takes longer ![]()
Thanks to all that sent me ideas, I'll take them all in consideration, and I'll see if they fit with my original idea for the game, which is quite simple. It is not based on any movie in particular. But the images of the counselors are taken from the game. I have edited the music cutting the songs down to fit a fast paced pinball. The songs come from youtube videos. Yes, the game will be fast, there won't be much breaks from the hole ![]()
I have extracted some voices from Steve Richie, and I hope he don't mind ![]()
I forgot to add a screenshot of the current wip18:

Next Friday 13th is in May 2022... was it your intention to publish on that date? Thats what I call real horror to let us wait for so long ;-)
Looks great as always!
I don't think I'll wait so long
Just a side note, my mom was born a Friday and 13th
And if you ask my wife she will say she was really a witch (or a bitch
)

Amazing WIP ... can´t believe it has 10 MB only. In this table state it´s fine to hear how nice table sounds are finetuned and included.
Good physics and i´m happy to see the whole result.

Yes amazing small file size thus far. I've been experimenting with using compressed audio formats (.mp3 or .ogg) in the Table Sound Library instead of the non-compressed .wav sounds the space savings alone is about 90% reduction in the size of the audio files in the sound library. So if some tables get really crazy with a lot of sounds and samples the .ogg compressed audio format is a great way to shrink the overall table size as well. One WIP table I am working on is 255megs thus far, way to big for my preference but has a lot of audio samples in it. I have to believe shrinking the audio samples and making a table with a smaller file size may also increase performance on mid-range and low end computers and ease the burden on memory. Just a guess.
JP,
1) May still be on your list of things to work on but the Next Ball Load routine seems to have a longer than usual delay on it. Probably just a timer setting.
2) Ball not ejecting from the kickout/kickback hole above the right side pop bumper.

The script is just still a generic script, only the magnet is working
The rest is very very WIP. I'm still working on the ideas.
I have added some lake lamps and changed a little the cabin. The cabin is still "brown" in color. I tried a more older look, but since the game should happen during the night, I think it fits better with a brownish wood color ![]()
I have added 7 music files for the main modes, about 200 voices (screams, Jason's mother, standard pinball voices), and many other sound effects (death/kill sounds, sword/machete sounds), and the file size is now 27Mb ![]()
I use webp for the table graphics, png for the DMD letters (because of FlexDMD which cannot use webp images), mono wav for the mechanical and ball sounds, stereo ogg for music, voices and other sound effects.

BTW yes the electro-magnet is a great addition, working just fine in testing, plays and sounds awesome !

Hi JP.
How's things in Norway?
I had a question about tables created in 10.7
Is there a way when they are created and listed to show they are 10.7?
Is 10.7 ready for use? If so is it stand alone? so you can keep all the other versions of VP 9 and 10 working.
Again Thanks for all your effort and creativity.

Frankn, I think like me you will end up retireing most of you VP9 tables as VPX is a superior platform and a good majority of the tables have been reconstructed in VPX. I have retired all but 1 table, VP9 Scooby Doo, El Pinball, because the rule set is fairly involved and the time needed to convert all the table objects is just not something my current schedule allows for; but it is a project I have in my queue for next October.

Everything is "fine" in Norway, at least with us
But Norway is back in a lock down due to the covid virus. But we'll survive ![]()
Tables created with 10.7 will give you a warning when you load them in 10.6, and they will not run at all. Graphics will be missing, sound errors, script errors, etc. But you can't see it in the file name, unless the author has written it in the name.
10.7 is ready to be used, and it has been ready for a long time. Sometimes a new beta may introduce some bugs, but they are quickly fixed
I have been using it as my default VPX for over a year now. And all my new tables are made with 10.7.
All the dll and scripts are fully compatible with 10.6. You simply rename the current vpinballx.exe to vpinballx6.exe (or similar) then unpack the 10.7 zip package and just overwrite everything with the latest zip found here The VP 10.7 beta thread - Visual Pinball - VPForums.org
If you want to keep 10.6 as the default vpx then just rename the new vpinballx.exe to vpinballx7.exe and the version 6 back to the vpinballx.exe. Everything is fully backwards compatible, and you can still use vp9 and older versions too.
10.7 can play all the older vpx tables, but some tables may give some problems due to new functionality in 10.7, like the new plunger that may be enabled by default which will make some tables auto-fire continuously or the plunger being too slow (this new plunger can be turned off in the preferences). And the other thing I have noticed is that some table may look a little brighter, mostly some lights or flashers, mostly if they already were oversaturated in 10.6. Apart from these 2 changes 10.7 will run all the vpx tables without problem, and they will run even better ![]()

About the Scooby Doo table: it was a mod of my Wrath of Olympus. Wrath of Olympus was a prototype table made in vp9 that I made for T-800 back in 2012. Using this VP table he made a real pinball (together with the people of Riot Pinball). And since the end result was a little different from my prototype (due to physical restrictions) then I have not upgraded it to VPX, but I may do it sometime in the future.

Yeh it is a fantasic game JP with an excellent rule set, I just don't have the skills yet to do the full physical table conversion to VPX, so in my version of the VP9 table I have script notes side by side from the WOR routines converted to Scooby routines so I don't lose sight of the rule set. Then I translated all the DMD text from Spanish back to English and resampled all the audio from Spanish back into English. I have a lot of enhanced audio in the game but so it gets real crazy with Mystery Inc. shouting out things here and there but my audio is very well synchronized with seasons 1 & 2 of "Where Are You" in relation to all the villains and monsters on the play field. My samples call them all out by name. All the sounds are triggering correctly at the right times, including the Hurricane from one of the SD episodes. i remapped a fair amount, almost all of the sound library where Scooby Doo and Gang were involved. I'll keep hammering away at it.
If you do decide to work on it again in the future, please reach out to me, I have all the audio ready to roll and can share my version of the table with you where I did the Spanish to English translations. If you would like to take a look at my version, drop me a message and I'll share it with you.

I did not made the Scooby Doo table, it was masalaja who made that mod. I made the Wrath of Olympus table ![]()
