Guess it's time to fire up VP9 again. Let's give this baby a spin.

OK, I have uploaded an update 1.01.

Fixed: the battles now don't get reset after each ball. It was never the meaning to be like this and I fixed that bug a few days ago, but it manages to be in the released version.

I also had added some extra sound, like Octopus laughing at you (from time time) when you hit the wall at his entrance, mostly when you miss the hit. I also added the "woohoo" sound of Spider-Man in the upper loop (the table will play the woohoo sound or the police car sound).

The strange thing is that those sounds where in the table, but the script was older. I guess it was some CTRL Z too much. I is strange. But now it should be a little closer to what it was supposed to be the first release smile.gif I'll check a few more places in the script, but I think I made all the changes. I remember adding a laugh at the Green Goblin, but his "grrr" was always louder smile.gif, so I didn't add that again.

I'm making an update just now. Somehow a bug I had fixed before has managed to be in the release table. It is not the meaning that the lights and battles get reset after each ball. You should be able to continue the battles after each ball. I'll also fix the Goblin"g" error smile.gif

JP

PS: I must remember to be careful with the CTRL Z smile.gif

Minor request, JP. If you could be so kind to fix the rules sheet too IN SEVERAL PLACES with the GOBLIN vs GOBLING, that would be terrific.
AND "one allied: the New Gobling" should be "one ally: the New Goblin"

As you may have seen I have already updated the table to 1.01. I have also fixed the Goblin"g" in the help file, but "allied" will have to wait until the next revision.

This plays excellent! Nice & Fluid. smile.gif And it's not quite as frustrating when the sandman targets stay down after you lose a ball.

Sweet table. Are those voice commands synthesized or are they from the original table?

Only the layout is from the original table. one of the graphics are from the original table (ok, the apron is very inspired by the Stern one:) ).
As I wrote before the voices were made by strangeleo72, I guess he used a program to generate them and he added the echo and other effects.

I remember the first version of the voices he made, it sounded like a completely bored/uninterested "Englishman", maybe a little drunk too, hahaha. It was funny biggrin.gif , but it didn't fit to a Spiderman table. Just like the first sounds efefects I added, which I sampled from the Hanna Barbera movies. It sounded like a Looney toons film, it was also quite funny, it sounded like all those characters were going bananas, hahha.

I have been playing the 1.01 for a while now and it seems that all changes I made are there now. The rules seem ok.

I made the table as a programming exercise and it went quite well, even if I started the table in the beginning of this year, and then I didn't work on it for months and months until november. I wasn't sure if the table would be playable without the original ROM. People may think I'm a genious, but actually I'm not so good at programming /scripting. But I'm happy how the table turned out smile.gif And I'm happy you all enjoy it.

The rules of the table may not be as complex as in the original Stern's Spider-Man, but there is quite a lot of to do if you are going to get to the Battle Royale.

My 1st post smile.gif

I get errors when starting this table:

CODE
Line: 40
Object doesn't support this property or method: 'Table1.MaxBallSpeed'

The Black Knight and Mars Attack tables worked pretty good, so I think my install is working properly.

Any ideas?

You must run this table with VP9, not VP8.

It should be VP9.0.3, though that's not the issue here.

That error would only be generated using VP8.

I'll make a 1.02 version with the playfield lights fixed if I discover some more errors/bugs that need to be fixed. Those lights are just decoration and I don't feel it neds a new version just now.

I can only imagine how much scripting went into this table since you couldn't use the roms to make this table with. GREAT JOB! biggrin.gif

I could have been smart, but I never learned anything by being smart!

No need to imagine, just click on the script icon in the editor and yes that's one huge amount of scripting.

Very Nice Table JP, I like it a lot, would have liked to see a non free play option and I'm not overly keen on the slowdown trigger for the upper flipper, that seems a little unrealistic to me, still I can see it maybe needed to make that ramp shot a realistic possibility. I'm also surprised you did not include a ramp combo bonus feature as I feel this table really could work well with such a feature, though I suppose that would be even more scripting. Also the backdrop seems to me to be a little off centre, with the black portion being slightly out of perspective to the red, though maybe I'm being a bit particular still it could be easily fixed by splitting the image in two adding a bit of blank space under the table, altering the black portions aspect ratio and then join it altogether.

Great table so don't take any of my suggestions as critic, they are only just suggestions which you may or may not like to consider and I really like the table and the sounds, the SS display is a really nice piece of VP work too. smile.gif

Thanks for the table and it plays and looks great here without issue @ 1600x1200, with the my old 6800GS 256MB card...Cheers!
