Thanks for this fun table.  I'm not familiar with Diablo, but the table plays great and now I want to learn the rule set!

 

I wanted to ask if DOF was setup for this table, but seems like maybe it has not just yet?  Are there any plans to add DOF to the table?

I did request a record be added but haven't heard back yet. Neither jp or I have a dof cabinet so while jp coded in the calls for dof we haven't made a config or have any way to test.

The community rely all to much on one guy, Arngrim, for his contribution. He has done almost 100% of this on his own. Simply amazing effort.

I hope for a guide, so more people are able to do it them selves. This table is very good, and deserve DOF.

i added diablo record on configtool, and you replied about it scotty, i'm eager to dof the table, i want to make sure i don't work on a version that is not the latest or i would need to merge my changes on another version

 

so if i have the latest version, i can do it, and i will start a guide on how to dof an original based on my view and experience

There are already a lot of DOF commands in the script, which I copied from the Slimer table. But I guess it needs a few more commands to fully enjoy the DOF system.

I just found a small error If you change the script to play with coins, this is, you find the line 132:  bFreePlay = True 'we dont want coins, and change the True with False. The the UltraDMD will give you an error during the attrack mode. At some point we renamed a file, and it needs to be renamed again. So, inside the folder Diablo.UltraDMD, you may find the file intro-coin.wmv and change it to intro-coins.wmv (coins with an s at the end).

 

I won't upload a new version just to fix this small error Anyway the table is set up to play in free mode, as there is no special to win an extra game or match feature.

Also yeah I think this should be the latest. Jp is pretty damn good at this coding stuff.

Also dieter helped me config stranger things so I'll release a dof of that one soon.

First of all a huge thank you to JP and Scottywic for this fantastic original. It is heaps of fun and the sounds are fantastic in this game. I'm using sound-driven tactile speaker feedback and i'm getting fantastic meaty feedback from this table.

 

i have a small issue with my (cough) peen-too-dee-em-dee. the animations are washed out, sometimes i can't make anything out. especially all the ones at the start. the diablo III title i can see easily as most of the LED's are turned off.  but any image that turns on a lot of the LED's i can't make out at all. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue if they have a similar device and have any ideas how to tweak or enhance the constrasting animations. The only thought i had was i could go through the image files and darken them to suit my setup but that seems a bit drastic (And a lot of work.)

Hey CJS,

 

I guess this is all related to the brightness of the LEDs of your device (and of mine as well ;-) ). You may try if it is sufficient if you turn down the brightness of your device with the given tool of the device, in case you haven´t already done this.

 

Since I´ve encountered other issues (see above) I´ve switched the Ultra DMD setting from "Use True Color" to "Dark Orange/Red". On one hand it just gives you a single color spectrum, but on the other hand - in my opinion - it makes all sequences better readable.

 

By the way: you will encounter the same "washed out effect" on Champions league as well...

Ahh sad on the no full color. Yeah i would guess it's LED bleed. You won't be able to change the images as they are all WMVs so you'd need to redo all the vids and well that would be a nightmare as there is prob 80 or so.

 

If you darkened your LEDs that would prob fix it. Not sure how to adjust that to work. I was thinking would there be a way to overlay a transparent png w/ 40% black? But I have no idea how that would get loaded. Maybe the ultradmd devs know a trick?

 

If you find a solution I'd love to incorporate it.

i have an odd issue not necessarily related to this specific table. Anytime i launch this or stranger things from pinballx its like the playfield loses focus and i have to click the playfield to get the table to function. If i launch them directly from VP its fine. I realize this is more than likely a pinballx issue but my past requests for help have kind of gone on deaf ears and was hoping maybe someone in this forum has seen this issue.... any help is greatly appreciated.

It isn't UltraDMD related maybe ? Does Ghostbusters from JP also behave like this for you ?

Mine does the same thing, haven't tried ghostbusters on the cab yet, havn't looked into why as I don't run from pinball x very often.

i havent tried ghostbusters table but the only 2 that do this are stranger things and diablo both being ultra dmd any other VP table with B2s works fine. Again this only happens when launching from pinballX.

JP Ghostbusters works fine...

JP Pokemon Pinball works fine also

in the Diablo table script change this section from true to false

 

' wait for the animation to end

    While UltraDMD.IsRendering = True

    WEnd

 

same process for stranger things table as well
