Yes. that table and adams family uses a thing that has been take away from VP. The easy way around it is to open up the table and comment out the line in the script.

Or you can download the "updated" script from here https://raw.githubus...1987) 1.0.1.vbs

Added benefit from taking the code from github is that you will get fast flips as well. It requires though that your installation is fairly up to date.

Open the table - press script button. Delete everything. Copy the text in the link into the editor and save.

Important. It needs to be Victory (Gottlieb 1987) 1.0.1

I have both Victory (Gottlieb 1987) 1.0.1 and Victory (Gottlieb 1987) 2.0. They both run on Visual Pinball 10.4.0.

Victory (Gottlieb 1987) 1.0.1 does have line 751 ifl(0).RotX = -Victory.InclinationFS / 2

Victory (Gottlieb 1987) 2.0 does not have any mention of Inclination.

If I understand correctly, when I upgrade to Visual Pinball 10.5 that Victory (Gottlieb 1987) 1.0.1 will have a problem, is that correct? Unless I comment out the line or change the script.

What is the downside of running Victory (Gottlieb 1987) 2.0 on Visual Pinball 10.5? No fast flips?

There is no downside as I see it. The reason I say that if you use my table scripts it is a very high chance that the table will not work if you copy it into a different version of the table. Fast Flips is for me a very important upgrade to any table that supports it. What it does is to make the flippers not jump randomly between approx 0-20ms in response time. Instead you end up with almost 0ms. Just like real machines.

Take the upgrade - there are more than a few great tables that require 10.5. And try changing 'useSolenoids=1' to 'useSolenoids=2' in the table script yourself. If you don't like it - you can always revert.

Btw. I updated TAF and a few other tables just recently.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Victory 2.0.1 indicates it fixes some bugs and missing balls & dome screws, however the updated script does not appear to work with that version.

Victory 1.0.1 has an upgraded script available with fast flips, but it won’t have the bugs or missing items fixed as in vers 2.0.1.

It seems that I can get one improvement or the other but not both. Am I understanding that correctly?

Yes. You are correct.

The tables on github are all a bit dated. My original project was to give basic 7.1 sound to tables that was made before it became available in VP ( 10.4 ). Once I put them there Wob helped me to address a few mistakes I've made to the fast flip code so now. If you want better directional sound and updated flipper response you can just replace the script. It also serves as a learning point I guess. You can quite easily sit an browse the code and see what eg. got changed. There is also a few tables where the author havn't kept it up to date, but I've added the missing part that has been reported in one of our community forums. DjRobX just did some fixes to Indiana Jones that should make that table work with the current and the new upcoming core.vbs.

Maybe Victory 2.0 arrives there one day. It all depends on if the table gets left behind or not.

As I see it. It is beneficial to the table authors too. If they want to update their table. They will have some work done for them.

Nice work on the updated scripts To everybody involved thank you...
One question...

If I swap out the script for the Addams Family Version 1.4.1

My plunger strength decreases by half - what's in the script that controls the plunger strength or speed

Well. Thank you.

I can't recall changing any code that has to do with the plunger. And adjusting that is normally a editor thing so it is saved with the table itself. Easiest way to get to it is ...

Open table

Shift + E ( or was it cntrl+shift+e ? Open element editor )

Start to write 'plu' and you are most of the time scrolled down to the Plunger or use the mouse and scroll down to it.

Press select button and make sure that options are active. You should then on the right side have "physics" something and there you can both enable the mechanical plunger and set it strength, length etc.

More on tuning the plunger is found here :

Hey Thalamus,

could you give me a hint what is missing on Victory 2.0? UseSolenoids=2 does work for me and WED made the surround sound. Did i miss something here in this thread? I'm not the brightest candle on the birthday cake when it comes to scripting! :dblthumb:

I don't think you've missed anything my friend. In my brain I had mixed this with another table. You know. It the downside of getting old ;)
