Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

Victory from Gottlieb (1987)

Guys, this will be my last release. The table itself is not 100% finished, and you may find something that can be done better, but I want to prevent from running into the same trouble as with Vector. So I'll release Victory today as my last build. Sorry for no support from me, but I think there are enough guys who can assist if you run into problems. I'll leave the scene, I'll "retire".  :bye2:

This table has been developed on VPX 10.2.1. I was unsure which flipper sounds I should use, so I implemented two different sounds. You can choose your favorite in the option menu (F6). I developed the table under the ROM "victory", I didn't test any other roms. Some Hints: Checkpoint 1 works best from right flipper, you have to practice a little bit. Checkpoint 2 works also best from right(!) flipper.

But not everything was done by me, so it's time to present the real stars behind this table:

The Loafer, Shadowsclassic, dboyrecords, Zany, Nemo, Naboodiver, Gigaluga, Arngrim: Thanks for all the testing
JPSalas: ball rolling sound script, flasher images
Zany: primitives
Noah: nudging routines
Hauntfreaks: background image
The VP and VPM development teams: Thanks for the awesome software

The table still contains some (disabled) debug routines, this could make it easier for someone to act on any upcoming problems (I hope, you don't need them).

Ah, I forgot: No permission required to mod, enhance, or maybe delete, you can use all resources which came from me for whatever - but not for crime. By the way: Because I'll leave the scene, this statement applies to everything, also for not released WIPs.

Sorry guys, had to upload a new version 1.0.1: Fixed DOF light for the shooterlane, which stayed accidently on

sorry to see you go Sindbad, love all your tables (so many and great quality), so a big thanks is in order.

On a side note, does anyone have a pinDMD3 and get a working display for this rom.  I have tried 2.8 and 2.9 of vPinMAME.DLL.  I can see a PinMAME window if I turn that on,  but it just blanks my PinDMD3

dislplay.  Any ideas.   I usually just put a controller.ShowPinDMD = True in the script and it works, but not with this table (I think there are others just not positive)

Hah! Found it!

It's always the same: tables are tested and tested and tested prior to release. But after releasing the table, I always wait for feedback telling me that something doesn't work. And if I don't get that feedback, I play and play and play the table in order to find something. So it was today. FOUND IT!!!

DOF Light for shooterlane stays on -> will be fixed in version 1.0.1, which will be uploaded in two minutes.

Update: New version is online.

Yes, ball can go back to shooter lane, I played that pinball two years ago, and after playing it, I decided to build it in VP. I like that table, because after some practice, you'll be able to hold the ball very long on the playfield. That means, you'll get a long time amusement for your coins.

The B2S backglass needs some love, maybe someone can look at it. I don't speak B2S language and so I don't know what's going on inside these B2S things...

- "1" will be displayed as ":"

- seems that some graphic is broken, the "V" isn't displayed correctly

This community cannot afford to lose such a great table author and contributor as yourself.

Here is a suggestion to you my Pinball friend. I am sure everyone here NOW knows how you feel about your WIP tables, and how you didn't want them used in others works, and that you specifically asked everyone to give you time to complete your WIP's because of an ailment, and that you would finish these WIP's.

Why not Lock the WIP tables that you want people to try out, that way nobody can use your material or finish making them themselves, as the table will be locked.

Maybe this should be a new rule for WIP tables, so other Authors won't have to go through what you just went through.

I love your tables!!

Hate to see you go my friend.

God Bless!!

maybe you have an older directb2s File, cant remember, i had on some Tables, there was the Digits not correct ( 7, 10 or 14 ),
Victory have 14, and my directbs too = works fine.

Btw. victory Rom is avaiable in German too ( as always on \/PU )

Xenoph,

I don't want to make stress here, this is not my purpose. Yes, I'm frustrated, but that's not the reason why I want to "retire". The reason is that I'm to slow now, fingers are not that fast as before the rheumatism, and sometimes my fingers hurt, so I'm not able to do anything on tables. It takes to long now to build a table, other authors are quicker and that was the main reason for yesterday's "accident". I don't want to "block" tables with WIPs that take 6 month or longer... What happened yesterday could happen again and that's annoying for all involved.

And I'm pretty sure that most of you know, that I'm a supporter of sharing everything. But... you know, it was a lot (yes, a real lot) of work to completely redraw the playfield, each pixel on the playfierld has been set by me - nothing was copied from pictures. And the only thing that motivated me was the fact, that some day I'll release the result as a VPX table.

Yes, normally my WIPs are only accessible for the test team (and I had the best team, I'm full of thanks for the guys). This time it was different. VPX was in development state, but we needed tables to test VPX, so I posted a link for VPX test tables which resideded on a Google webdrive, but these tables were only for the VPX testers. Some of the tables had "WIP" in their filenames, so I thought it was clear for everybody that these tables were still under construction. Anyway - I think it's good to find the best time to leave, and the best time is now. I'll stay here in the forum, I'm not out of the world, but I won't build tables anymore.

BUT... and here's the loophole... I had a look at 32a's Vector table, and I'm thinking about releasing Vector anyhow, I saw that 32a used the VP8 script, and some things (Sorry, 32a) don't work. But this will then be 100% my last release. But as I wrote, I'm only thinking about it...

@STAT: Yes, I got the B2S from here. It's the version from Herweh (from 2013, I think...). Is there another one around somewhere?

I think if 32a would have seen your post saying that you wanted to complete your WIP's, he would have complied with your wishes, I just think he never saw what you posted before he released it.

He has no track record of releasing other peoples WIP tables, so I am sure he meant no harm.

He, like you, only do all this work to help contribute to the Pinball Community.

I don't personally know 32a, but I can guarantee that if he would have seen your post where you explain you have an ailment, and you needed more time to complete your WIP, he would have complied with your wishes.

Try this..

Click Preferences tab, then Video Options and you will see down at bottom of menu, Max Texture Dimension. Change this from unlimited to a lower number.
